The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Revelation 6:1-10

Revelation 6:1 - I saw and I heard, when the Lamb opened one of the four seals, a noise like thunder and one of the four beasts saying Come and see. [Turker's Comment: This is something of great religious importance from the Bible.]

Revelation 6:2 - I saw some bloke with a bow on a white horse; some crazy guy gave him one of those paper Burger King crowns: but he though he was a real king, and went off to conquer some fiefdoms or whatever. [Turker's Comment: Some dude was made a king and went off conquering.]

Revelation 6:3 - When he broke through the second of the seals, I could hear a second creature say, Come and see.

Revelation 6:4 - The red horse went out and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Revelation 6:5 - Come, look at this. And I looked and saw a black horse, and the one riding on him had a pair of weighing scales in his hand. [Turker's Comment: The sentence is a bit unclear when removed from its literary context of the Bible, but the author is describing what he has seen in a vision.]

Revelation 6:6 - One of the four beasts surrounding me spoke, saying, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and do not hurt the oil and the wine. [Turker's Comment: I did not want to copy that quote verbatim, but it seemed unavoidable.]

Revelation 6:7 - And after he opened the fourth seal, the voice of the fourth beast said Come and see. [Turker's Comment: Sounds like a biblical text.]

Revelation 6:8 - As I watched, Death appeared sitting on a white horse, accompanied by the furies of Hell. They were given the ability to kill by violence, bodily deprivation, death, or animals. [Turker's Comment: This sentence describes a man's first encounter with death, as death recieves it's power over Man.]

Revelation 6:9 - When he opened the fifth seal,I saw all of those that had been martyred because they believed what the Bible said, and they never backed down in proclaiming the truth. [Turker's Comment: When the fifth seal is opened the souls of all those martyred for the sake of Christ and their belief in Him will be visible.]

Revelation 6:10 - They cried out loudly, How long, O lord, before you judge them and avenge our blood on those who live upon the Earth?; [Turker's Comment: Those who are watching the torment upon Earth ask God how much longer before he reins down final punishment.]

Revelation 6:11-17

Revelation 6:11 - White clothes were given to each and every one of them; they were told that they should rest for a while, until their peers and family that should be killed in the same way that they were then were killed that way. [Turker's Comment: There should be equal justice, and those who were slain unfairly can rest and wait for those who killed them to be served justice.]

Revelation 6:12 - And I saw that when he opened the sixth seal, that all hell broke loose and there was an earthquake like no one had ever experienced;and the sun went out and everything was pitch black, except for the moon that was as red as blood. [Turker's Comment: The lamb of God opened the sixth seal which brought upon the earth a horrible earthquake and the sun was obliterated, but the moon still shown red like blood.]

Revelation 6:13 - And the stars of heaven fell down to the earth, just as a fig tree drops its figs when it is shaken by the wind. [Turker's Comment: It is another version of as above, so below, indicating that the smaller movements of nature are analogous to the larger processes of nature. Another example of this would be the way the movements of electrons around a neutron mimic the movement of the;]

Revelation 6:14 - Every mountain and island were moved out of their places when the heaven departed as a scroll is rolled together.

Revelation 6:15 - All the men including the kings, big men, rich men, cheifs, captains, and strong men hid in caves in the mountain; [Turker's Comment: At lot of men were hiding;]

Revelation 6:16 - They pleaded to the mountains and rocks, fall on us, and keep us away from the face of the one holding the authority and from the resentment of the lamb. [Turker's Comment: This phrase means the pleading of the people to keep them away from the wrath from someone holding authority.]

Revelation 6:17 - The day of his ire is upon us; who will be able to withstand this?
