The Turker’s Gospel

Revelation 3:1 - The things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that hast a name that thou livest, and art dead; And undo the angel of the church in Sardis write.

Revelation 3:2 - Be aware of your weaknesses and fix them because I know God thinks that you’re not perfect. [Turker's Comment: This sentence refers specifically to fixing the wrong things and not amplifying the good things.]

Revelation 3:3 - Think back on how you have taken in things, and keep steady and repent. If you will not look at this, I will sneak up on you and you will not know when I am coming for you.

Revelation 3:4 - There are a few of you, even in the city of Sardis, who have not down evil. They are worthy to walk with the just. [Turker's Comment: There are still a few people who have sinned greviously even in the most sinful cities.]

Revelation 3:5 - The person who overcomes will also be clad in white; I will not remove his name from the list of life, but instead I will tell my Father and his angels. [Turker's Comment: If you believe, Jesus will keep you alive through God.]

Revelation 3:6 - Anyone who can hear can listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. [Turker's Comment: Everyone is able to hear what the Spirit is saying.]

Revelation 3:7 - He wrote to the angel of the church of Philadelphia that he has holy truthful sayings and that he has David’s key, and whatever he opens or closes cannot be opened or closed by any other man;; [Turker's Comment: Someone is writing to an angel that he is true and holy, and what he does cannot be reversed by any other man.]

Revelation 3:8 - I know what you have done: I am rewarding you with an opportunity that can not be taken away: you are not completely weak, and have obeyed, and showed loyalty to me. [Turker's Comment: The speaker (presumably God) appreciates the good deeds and loyalty shown by the listener and is giving them a reward that can not be taken away.]

Revelation 3:9 - Look, those people who say they are Jews, but really aren’t and lie will become like a synagogue of Satan. So I will make them come and bow down to you, and they will know that I have loved you. [Turker's Comment: The author is angry with a group of people he designates as the Synagogue of Satan.]

Revelation 3:10 - Since you contentedly waited as I told you to, I promise to protect you during times of trial that will occur all over the earth to tempt everyone living on it. [Turker's Comment: Jesus speaks to His children, saying that he will reward their endurance by protecting them during the future, when very difficult hardships will affect everyone in the whole world.]

Revelation 3:11 - Understand that I will appear rapidly, so hold onto your purity so no other will receive the reward awaiting you. [Turker's Comment: Be prepared and vigilant or another will take your place.]

Revelation 3:12 - He that overcomes this will become a staple of my temple to my God, and he will no longer go out: I will tattoo him with the name of my God, with Jerusalem - the city of my God that is spoken from heaven by my God: I will tattoo him with my new name.

Revelation 3:13 - If you can hear, listen to the Spirit in the church. [Turker's Comment: What the Spirit says is important.]

Revelation 3:14 - These things say the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of god, the angel of the church of the Laodiceans writes;; [Turker's Comment: The angel of the church of Ladiceans writes that the faithful and the true witness the beginning of the creation of God;]

Revelation 3:15 - I know what you do, and whether your are cold or hot: I would feel the cold and heat with you. [Turker's Comment: I would feel as you felt and suffer it.]

Revelation 3:16 - Blessed is the one who is attentive and holds dear the teaching of this book and its prophecy, for I will return soon. [Turker's Comment: This is to illustrate faithfulness to teaching of the Word. One should always remain vigilant in matters of mind and soul. This is a warning to keep focus on matters of Faith.]

Revelation 3:17 - Because you say your are rich and have material wealth and thus need nothing, you do not know that you are poor, blind, miserable and naked:; [Turker's Comment: Material wealth does not ensure spiritual wealth or even personal fulfillment.]

Revelation 3:18 - I would advise you to buy from me gold that has been fired so you can be the richest, as well as white cloth so that you can cover your body and not be ashamed of your naked body, and to put eye drops in your eyes so you can see.

Revelation 3:19 - Because I love you, I rebuke and criticize you: therefore eagerly repent. [Turker's Comment: I punish because I love you, so admit the wrong and all will be made right.]

Revelation 3:20 - I will stand at the door and knock, if any man opens the door, I will come to him and eat with him.

Revelation 3:21 - I pulled through harsh struggles in my time and sat with my Father in his throne, and you can do the same with me if you pull through your struggles. [Turker's Comment: If a person can follow the example of the speaker, they can also sit with the speaker just like how the speaker got to sit with his Father.]

Revelation 3:22 - Anyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says about the church.
