The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Revelation 21:1-10

Revelation 21:1 - I saw heaven and earth in a new light; without anymore hatred or pain. [Turker's Comment: bad becomes good and therefor better.]

Revelation 21:2 - Jerusalem looked like a bride ready for her wedding according to John. [Turker's Comment: John saw heaven coming down in spectacular glory.]

Revelation 21:3 - And I heard a thunderous voice coming out of the heavens, and it said, Gaze upon the special temple of God filled with men, and He will live with them, and they will be His nation, and God Himself will be with them, and be their Deity. [Turker's Comment: Took some liberty with certain terms.]

Revelation 21:4 - God shall remove all death, sorrow, and suffering from his people. [Turker's Comment: God will raise his people up beyond mortal suffering.]

Revelation 21:5 - And he that was sitting on the throne stated, Look, I am recreating everything. And he told me, Write: because these words are the truth and you can have faith in them. [Turker's Comment: This is a scripture from the Bible. I think it means that people should believe in everything that God says because he always tell us the truth and what God says will happen.]

Revelation 21:6 - I represent the beginning and the end of time, I will give anyone an opportunity to have eternal life.

Revelation 21:7 - He that trusts in Me, shall be called my son. I will be his God and all I have is his. [Turker's Comment: If there is complete trust in God Almighty you can overcome anything through Faith. That is the inheritance, the confidence that God, the Father has not abandoned you.]

Revelation 21:8 - Those who are scared and do not believe, those who are comtemptible, murderers, promiscuous, witches, idolaters, and liars will be in the fire and brimstone lake: this is the second death.

Revelation 21:9 - And one of the seven angels, holding the vial which contained on of the seven last plagues which shall be visited upon man, talked to me, saying Come, I will show you the Lamb’s wife. [Turker's Comment: Revelations, definitely. I've heard that the angel is Michael, but that's debatable.]

Revelation 21:10 - He took me in spirit to a large, high mountain and laid before me that great city, Jerusalem, coming down from God’s heaven,; [Turker's Comment: Jerusalem is the holy city coming from heaven.]

Revelation 21:11-20

Revelation 21:11 - She reflected the glory of God, and her brightness was like a precious jewel, like the valuable jasper stone, and clear like a crystal. [Turker's Comment: This is comparing something valuable to a jewel or crystal.]

Revelation 21:12 - It had a mighty wall with twelve gates. The gates had twelve angels named after the tribes of Israel. [Turker's Comment: I'm not exactly sure if their where one angels per gate or 144 angels in total so I've cheated slightly be preserving the original semantics.]

Revelation 21:13 - On the three gates in all four geographical directions. [Turker's Comment: There is something on a few gates in all directions.]

Revelation 21:14 - The foundations of the city’s wall were twelve, and upon them were engraved the names of the twelve apostles of Jesus. [Turker's Comment: I don't know what city this is referring to because my Bible knowledge is sadly lacking, but I assume the Lamb's apostles refer to Jesus.]

Revelation 21:15 - The man that was talking to me had a golden reed to measure the city, the city gates, and the city walls. [Turker's Comment: The only part of the sentence that people may not understand is the part about the golden reed. It is a type of measurement tool (like a ruler) that is being used to measure a city in its entirety.]

Revelation 21:16 - The city is an open square. It measures around 276,000 yards. [Turker's Comment: The sentance is telling you the size of a city.]

Revelation 21:17 - He measured the length of the wall at a hundred and forty-four cubits by the ruler of man and of the angels.

Revelation 21:18 - The building walls were made of jasper: the city was pure gold and reflective like glass. [Turker's Comment: The city is made of jasper, gold, and fine materials - perfection.]

Revelation 21:19 - The layered foundations that form the walls of the city are covered with precious gems with a bottom layer of jasper covered by sapphire that was covered by chalcedony with emerald on top. [Turker's Comment: The foundation of the city walls was grandly decorated with jewels inlaid in precious metals instead of marble or stone.]

Revelation 21:20 - The fifth would be sardonyx, the sixth is sardius, chryolyte is seventh, the eighth is beryl; the ninth then is topaz; chrysoprasus the tenth, jacinth the eleventh ; and finally the twelfth, an amethyst. [Turker's Comment: An excellent catagorizing of semi precious stones.]

Revelation 21:21-27

Revelation 21:21 - The city had twelve beautiful gates, every so often they connected, along the street of shiny gold. [Turker's Comment: I think it means the streets of gold in heaven.]

Revelation 21:22 - Looking, I saw no temple there because the temple is the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb and they are not buildings created by men. [Turker's Comment: Not seeable, only recieved in the heart and mind.]

Revelation 21:23 - There was no natural light, God’s glory who is the Lamb is the light. [Turker's Comment: The Lamb is so bright that there is no need for those natural lights.]

Revelation 21:24 - And the peoples of them that are rescued shall be filled with His light: and the rulers of the land will bring respect and reward into it. [Turker's Comment: If you walk in the light you will be rewarded with glory and honour.]

Revelation 21:25 - The gates there will be open all the time. [Turker's Comment: The gates there will never be closed.]

Revelation 21:26 - And they will bring the glory of all nations. [Turker's Comment: Whoever the sentence is talking about will unite all nations and bring the glory of all nations to the people.]

Revelation 21:27 - Under no circumstances let anything into it that is dirty, infectious or dishonest. Only that written in the book of life may enter. [Turker's Comment: I think (from memory) this is referring to who is and isn't allowed into heaven on judgment day.]
