Revelation 11:1 - I was given a reed that looked like a rod: the angel arose and said, Rise and see the temple of God, as well as his altar and the people who worship within it.
Revelation 11:2 - Do not go to a court which is without religion, it is not Gentile: they shall be under the influence of the holy city for forty-two months.
Revelation 11:3 - I will give speaking authority to my two witnesses, who will then tell the future for a thousand two hundred and sixty days, wearing rough clothing. [Turker's Comment: The two witnesses will be allowed to speak to the people to give them a message.]
Revelation 11:4 - These are the two olive trees I was talking about, and the two candlesticks placed in front of the Earth’s God; [Turker's Comment: More metaphorical and apocalyptic imagery from John.]
Revelation 11:5 - If anyone hurts them, fire will come out of their mouths and eat up their enemies: if anyone hurts them, he will be struck down in this way.
Revelation 11:6 - They have the power to make the clouds vanish during the days of their prophecy: and they are able to turn water into blood and to bring all kinds of diseases to mankind, as often as they want. [Turker's Comment: Mystical beings have special powers to punish humanity.]
Revelation 11:7 - And when they have finished sharing the testimony of God, the beast will rise up from the bottomless pit and fight them and kill them. [Turker's Comment: After they have shared the word of God, the demon will kill them.]
Revelation 11:8 - The bodies of the dead will be lying on the street of the spiritually titled and very important city of Sodom and Egypt, where the Lord was crucified. [Turker's Comment: This means some people will be dead for a reason in a city titled symbolically as mentioned above and it identifies the spot as where the Lord was crucified.]
Revelation 11:9 - And the people and families and nationalities who speak all languages will see the bodies of the dead for three and a half days, and they will not allow the dead bodies to be buried in graves. [Turker's Comment: All people will see the dead for 3-1/2 days, and they will not let them be buried.]
Revelation 11:10 - And those who live on the earth will triumph over them, be happy, and trade gifts with one another, because these two prophets tortured those who live on the earth. [Turker's Comment: it appears to deal with a conflict of some nature against those living on the earth. It seems that these people will overcome the distress caused by the prophets.]
Revelation 11:11 - And about half a week later the big man upstairs came into them, and caused them to quit sitting down and stand up; and they scared everyone who say them. [Turker's Comment: God did something to make these people stand up and everyone who saw them got scared.]
Revelation 11:12 - They heard the awesome voice of God from the heavens instructing them to come to Him.As they rose into the heavens in a billowy cloud,their enemies watched on in amazement. [Turker's Comment: People of God were taken up to Him while those,who do not know Him,remained on earth.]
Revelation 11:13 - In the same time, a large earthquake came and a tenth of the city fell in and killed seven thousand men: those who were not killed were afraid and began to praise God of heaven. [Turker's Comment: God killed a tenth of the people and the rest began to worship him.]
Revelation 11:14 - The second sadness has gone by; beware, the third sadness is approaching rapidly.
Revelation 11:15 - The seventh angel made noise; and there were thundrous voices from above, saying, The earthly kingdoms are those of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he will be ruler for all time. [Turker's Comment: The earth belongs and always will belong to God and Christ.]
Revelation 11:16 - The twenty-four wise men, of the universal church,who answered to God,fell down flat on their faces to worship God,; [Turker's Comment: God is so much greater than the wisest,purest of men that even they fall flat on their faces before Him.]
Revelation 11:17 - And they said, We thank you, Lord God Almighty, you are, and were, and will be; because you have great power, and have ruled. [Turker's Comment: They are thanking God and recognizing His power.]
Revelation 11:18 - The countries of the world were resentful and your rage has arrived along with the scheduled judgement of people who have died, and you will be giving awards to all those who served you by proclaiming you, following your Word, and being awed by your power; [Turker's Comment: God will have revenge on evil done on His earth. He has given all people an equal chance, but one day they'll have no more chances. He will judge the dead persons but give rewards to His children who love Him.]
Revelation 11:19 - And up in the sky a big door to the big man upstairs house opened, and inside his house you could see the chest from indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark: and just like the movie a bunch of scary stuff came out of it including bad weather. [Turker's Comment: God's house has some scary decor.]
