Revelation 1:1-10

Revelation 1:1 - The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which is given by God, will come and will be delivered by an angel unto John, who will show the servants. [Turker's Comment: Biblical reference to the soure and spreading of the news of the Revelation.]

Revelation 1:2 - Who wrote down exactly what God said, Jesus Christ’s declaration, and every entity he saw. [Turker's Comment: I believe this is John speaking, who wrote the book of Revelation with God's guidance of what will happen in the future.]

Revelation 1:3 - If someone reads or hears this prophecy and follows it, he will be blessed: it is that time. [Turker's Comment: Follow this prophecy for salvation.]

Revelation 1:4 - John sent greetings to the seven Asian churches: Grace to you, and peace from him who is the present, past and future. Peace from the seven spirits before his throne;; [Turker's Comment: This sentence is a grandiose greeting which invokes God and his servants as a unified kingdom.]

Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the first to receive souls of the dead in Heaven, and first among the leaders of the world. To him that gave everything for us, by granting us forgiveness through his own death,; [Turker's Comment: Tells us that Jesus Christ is important, benevolent, and influential.]

Revelation 1:6 - We have become kings and priests for God and his Father; for him there will be glory and supremacy for all of eternity. Amen. [Turker's Comment: This is a prayer saying that we are all high up to God and God will always be righteous and glorious.]

Revelation 1:7 - Look, he comes through the clouds, and everyone will watch him, including those who stabbed him, and every race will weep because of him. Even so, Amen. [Turker's Comment: Biblical, on the coming of God.]

Revelation 1:8 - I am A and Z, the Beginning and the Ending, the Lord says, and I am and was and will ever be the Omnipotent. [Turker's Comment: God proclaims Himself to be the Prime Mover, and eternal. From Revelations.]

Revelation 1:9 - I’m your brother, John, who is right beside you, too, in your difficulties while we live in Jesus Christ’s territory by the patience he gives us, and I was on Patmos Island in order to share what God proclaims and what Jesus Christ tells about Himself. [Turker's Comment: John wanted to assure the readers of his letter that he is one of them, no different, and he understands trials, too. He was on Patmos Island while he saw true visions of the future, which he wrote in Revelation.]

Revelation 1:10 - I came in the presence of the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and behind me I heard a great voice like a trumpet. [Turker's Comment: The phrase is about being in God's presence and its like hearing a music of a trumpet in His presence.]

Revelation 1:11-20

Revelation 1:11 - and so i say, I am the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. What you must seek is to write in the book and send it to the seven churches located in asia, The Ephesus, The Smyrna, The Pergamos, The Thyatira, The Sardis, Phila; [Turker's Comment: God stating for his apostle to write in the holy book and send it to the seven divine churches in which he states in the sentence.]

Revelation 1:12 - I turned to look at who was speaking to me. When I turned I saw seven candlesticks of gold.

Revelation 1:13 - In the middle of seven candlesticks stood the Son of man, completely robed, and supported with a golden girdle. [Turker's Comment: Jesus stood in the middle of seven candlesticks with his clothing hanging to his feet, supported by a golden girdle.]

Revelation 1:14 - All of his hair was bleached a ghostly white, but his eyes burned as if they were alight. [Turker's Comment: I wouldn't mess with this guy.]

Revelation 1:15 - His feet were like a fine brass put into the fire; his voice sounded as though it was roaring water. [Turker's Comment: He was powerful.]

Revelation 1:16 - And in his right hand he held seven stars; a sharp double edged sword came from his mouth and his face showed strength like the sun lights the day. [Turker's Comment: a man uses words as a weapon, and has great strength;]

Revelation 1:17 - And when I looked at him, I fell down at his feet like I was a dead person. And he put his right hand on me, telling me, Don’t be afraid; I am the beginning and the ending. [Turker's Comment: This is a scripture from the Bible. Someone is looked at God and God is so amazing that they are fainting and scared when he is looking at him. God is giving the person encouragement to not be afraid of him.]

Revelation 1:18 - I am the one that’s alive now even though I died before; look at me and realize that I will live on forever, it’s true; I possess the special keys that open the doors of the places known as hell and death. [Turker's Comment: Jesus Christ is speaking. He died on the cross over 2000 years ago, but He was resurrected and lives right now. He's in control of who goes to hell or heaven. It's our choice, but he's the one who has power over it all.]

Revelation 1:19 - Make note of the things you have seen, the things that exist, and the things that will come in the future;; [Turker's Comment: The author is telling the person to write down what they have seen, what actually exists, and what is going to exist in the future.]

Revelation 1:20 - Did you see the seven stars in my right hand? And the seven golden candlesticks? The stars are angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks you saw are the seven churches. [Turker's Comment: This would be two sentences. I think that the stars and candlesticks are metaphors.]
