Matthew 4:1-10

4:1 - The spirit led Jesus into the wilderness, where he was to be tempted by the devil.

4:2 - And when he had abstained from food for forty days and nights, after this he was hungry.

4:3 - The unbeliever said then turn the stones to bread.

4:4 - Yet he responded saying, It has been said, Man doesn’t just survive on bread, but also by God’s word.

4:5 - Then the devil took him to the holy city and put him on the top of the temple,

4:6 - If you are the Son of God, give me a sign. Protect me from worldly hazards.

4:7 - Never tempt the Lord our God.

4:8 - Devil again trying to convince him that he is ruler of the world.

4:9 - He said, I’ll give you what you want if you worship me.

4:10 - Lord our God we must only serve.

Matthew 4:11-20

4:11 - Angels came and ministered while the devil left.

4:12 - When Jesus heard that John was locked up, he left for Galilee;

4:13 - He left Nazareth and came to live in Capernaum, which is on the sea coast, on the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim.

4:14 - That Isaiah’s prophecy in the Old Testament would be fulfilled, saying,

4:15 - In the place of Zabulon, and also Nephthalim, arriving by sea, past Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

4:16 - The people sitting in the dark saw a bright light; and the light broke upon them as they sat in the this place covered by the shadow of Death.

4:17 - From that moment Jesus started to preach, saying, Ask for forgiveness of your sins: for the kingdom of heaven is coming soon.

4:18 - Peter and Andrew were great fisherman and Jesus saw that it was good.

4:19 - Follow me, he told them and I will make you fishers of men.

4:20 - They left their nets and followed him.

Matthew 4:21-25

4:21 - Moving forward, He saw James and John and their father, Zebedee, in a boat. The men were mending their fishing equipment. Jesus called them.

4:22 - They left their father and ship at once, and followed him.

4:23 - And Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all types of illness and disease in the people.

4:24 - And he became more and more well-known through the land of Syria; people sought him out to heal their sick, their disease-infested, their people under the control of demons, their insane, and their paralytic; and he cured them all.

4:25 - Many people followed him from many places including Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judaea, Jordan, and beyond.
