25:1 - The kingdom of heaven shall become like ten virgins on their way to meet their bridegroom.
25:2 - And five of the people possessed wisdom while the other five possessed none.
25:3 - The foolish ones did not take any oil to refill their lamps
25:4 - However, the smart ones carried extra oil along with their lamps.
25:5 - As the groom lingered, they took naps.
25:6 - At midnight there was an alarm, come see, the bridegroom is coming, come out to meet him.
25:7 - The virgins rose and adjusted their lights.
25:8 - And the brainless said to smart,Hand us your oil, because our lamps are gone out
25:9 - But the wise said, No, because we might not have enough for both you and us: Instead, you can go to the market and buy your own.
25:10 - And as they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and as they were ready, they accompanied him inside for the wedding: and the door was closed.
25:11 - The other virgins then came, requesting, Lord, Lord, please open yourself up to us.
25:12 - He responded: Honestly, I have no idea who you are.
25:13 - Watch out, because you don’t know when the Son of man will arrive.
25:14 - He called upon his servants from far away and delivered goods.
25:15 - To the first he gave five talents, the next two and the next one; every one based on their many abilities; then he took his leave.
25:16 - Then the man who received the money used it for some business transactions and turned it into twice as much money.
25:17 - He who received two also gained another two.
25:18 - He hid the Lord’s money instead of giving generously.
25:19 - Eventually the boss of those employees comes and deals with them.
25:20 - The slave who had been given five talents returned them with an additional five talents and said, Lord, behold that I have doubled the number of talents you gave to me.
25:21 - And he said to him, You have done a good job in this world for the tasks you assigned, but I will make you a king when you enter the house of the Lord.
25:22 - He was blessed to have received two talents and was grateful so he gained another two.
25:23 - His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful in small things, so I will put you in charge of larger things. Rejoice together with me.
25:24 - Then the one who had been given one talent came and said, Lord, I knew that you were a hard man, harvesting where you didn’t plant, and gathering where you have not layed out:
25:25 - And I was scared, so I went and buried the money you gave me in the dirt, and so your money is there whenever your want it.
25:26 - His master replid, You wicked, lazy servant, you knew that I harvested where I had not planted and gathered where I had not scattered seed.
25:27 - You should have put my funds in the bank so that when I returned I would have had that money with interest.
25:28 - Take talent from him and give it to those with ten talents.
25:29 - Those who have will have more, and those who have nothing will have even less.
25:30 - Then throw aside the useless servant into the street, and there will be complaining.
25:31 - Once the Son of man and his holy angels come in his glory, he will sit upon the throne of that glory:
25:32 - All nations before him, he will divide them as a sheperd to his flock.
25:33 - He will lead the sheep to the pasture on the right, while the goats are directed to the left.
25:34 - The foundation of the world is a kingdom for our Father.
25:35 - I was starving, and you presented me with food; I was dying of thirst, and you provided me with a beverage; you did not know me, yet you invited me into your home.
25:36 - When I did not have any clothes, you gave me clothes to wear: I was feeling ill and you came to see me: I was locked up in jail, and you arrived here where I was.
25:37 - Then the righteous people will answer him by saying, Lord, when we saw that you were hungry, didn’t we feed you? When we saw that you were thirsty, didn’t we give you something to drink?
25:38 - What about when we took you in as a stranger? Or gave you clothes?
25:39 - Or when we found you were sick, or in jail, and came to see you?
25:40 - The King will answer them, saying, Truly, I tell you that whatever you have done for the least of my people you have done for me.
25:41 - Then he will say to the sinners, leave me for you are bad people and get ready for Hell and damnation for all of eternity.
25:42 - When I was hungry you gave me food and when I was thirsty you gave me a drink.
25:43 - I was a stranger and you didn’t invite me in; I had no clothes and you didn’t give me any; I was sick in prison and you never came to see me.
25:44 - And they’ll reply, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, or sick, or a stranger, or in prison, and did not take care of you?
25:45 - He will then reply, In truth, I tell you: As you did not do it to the least of all these, you in turn did not do it to me.
25:46 - The wicked will suffer eternally while the saintly live through all time.
