The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Matthew 22:1-10

22:1 - And Jesus gave his answer in the form of a story with a moral lesson, saying,

22:2 - Heaven is like a king who arranged a marriage for his son.

22:3 - He sent his servants to call those invited to the wedding, but they refused.

22:4 - Another time, he sent out different servants to make the report, Say to those I am asking to come that, look, I have dinner ready for them, I have slaughtered my oxen as well as my fatlings, and everything is prepared: come for the wedding.

22:5 - They thought there was nothing to it and so one went back to his farm and the other to his business.

22:6 - The remnant grabbed his servants, treated them horribly, and then killed them.

22:7 - The king was furious when he heard about it, so he sent out his army to destroy the murderers, burning their whole city down.

22:8 - He told his servants that everything for the wedding was prepared but that those who were invited were not acceptable.

22:9 - You go to the highways, find as many as you can, and give to the marriage.

22:10 - The servers left and gathered everyone they could find, both evil and holy people, and brought them to the wedding.

Matthew 22:11-20

22:11 - And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man who was not wearing a wedding outfit:

22:12 - And he said to him, Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes? And he was speechless.

22:13 - The king told his servants to bind the mans’ hands and feet and take him away to exile where there would be crying and yelling.

22:14 - Many will be called, but few will be chosen.

22:15 - The Pharisees discussed how to trap him with his own words.

22:16 - They sent their followers along with the Herodians and these people said to Jesus, Sir, we know you speak truth and that you teach God’s way and also that you don’t think of one person being better than another person.

22:17 - Tell us what you think then. Are we allowed to honor Caesar?

22:18 - Jesus said to them, Ye hypocrites, why tempt ye me?, for he had seen the evil in their hearts.

22:19 - I want to see the offering. And they brought him a penny.

22:20 - And he asked them, Whose picture and inscription is this?

Matthew 22:21-30

22:21 - They said to him that it was Caesar’s. He told them that therefore they should give to Caesar the things that were Caesar’s, and give to God the things that were God’s.

22:22 - After hearing the words, they admired him, then continued on their way.

22:23 - That same day, the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to him, and asked him,

22:24 - In the process of no children, Moses says you may marry your brother’s wife and have children to raise of him.

22:25 - There with us seven brethren: the first one had taken a wife, then died, having no problems, and gave his wife to his own brother.

22:26 - This was the same for the second and the third, all the way through the seventh.

22:27 - And in the end the woman died.

22:28 - After being with all seven, to whom would she be wed to in the end?

22:29 - Jesus responded and spoke to the people, You are wrong since you do not understand the words, prophecies, or the might of God.

22:30 - After they die and rise again in heaven, they will not be married, but will be single and satisfied, just like God’s angels.

Matthew 22:31-40

22:31 - Concerning the reviving of the dead, didn’t you read what God said about it,

22:32 - I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I am the God of the living, not the dead.

22:33 - When the crowd heard this, they were surprised.

22:34 - When the Pharisees found out that he had convinced the Sadducees, the Pharisees held a meeting.

22:35 - The lawyer asked a question which tempted him.

22:36 - Which one of them is the strictest commandment, sir?

22:37 - Jesus said to him, Love almighty God with your whole heart, soul and mind.

22:38 - The first commandment is the most important one.

22:39 - The second is similar to the first. You will love your neighbors like you love yourself.

22:40 - Everything that is written in the law and everything the prophets say are based on these two commandments.

Matthew 22:41-46

22:41 - When the Pharisees had gathered together, Jesus stood before them and asked,

22:42 - Saying, What do you think about Christ? Who are his parents? And they answered, He’s David’s kid.

22:43 - He told them, How is it that David contacts the Lord by saying,

22:44 - The almighty LORD said that you can just sit and relax and I will see that all your problems and over, believe me and I will encounter all your difficulty.

22:45 - If David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?

22:46 - Not one man was able to answer him, or ask him any questions.
