20:1 - The kingdom of heaven is similar to a person that owns a house, who got up at the break of dawn to employ people to work on his ground.
20:2 - He sent them out into the vineyard after they had agreed upon the wage of a penny a day.
20:3 - About the third hour, he went out, and saw others standing around idly in the marketplace,
20:4 - He told them to go into the vineyard and whatever is right he would give to them. They then went on their way to the vineyard.
20:5 - He went out ever sixth to ninth hour and continued the same.
20:6 - Why stand idle all day when there is always work to be done.
20:7 - They said to him, Because no one hired us. He said to them, Go into the vineyard and you’ll receive whatever is right.
20:8 - When quitting time came, the boss said to his manager, Call the workers together and give them their pay, starting with the last ones hired and working your way back to the first ones hired.
20:9 - When those that were hired at the eleventh hour came in, each one also received a penny.
20:10 - Those who came first thought that they should have received more, but everyone received exactly the same amount.
20:11 - After they had gotten it they whispered ungraciously about their host,
20:12 - He said, ‘These others have worked for only one hour, and you’ve treated them exactly the same as us, even though we’ve worked through the heat of the day.’
20:13 - In response, he said to on that he had done him no wrong, and hadn’t he agreed with him for a penny?
20:14 - Take your money and go and I will give this last man the same amount as I gave you.
20:15 - Can I not do what I want, with what is mine? Do you envy my goodness?
20:16 - So those coming last will come to the front of the line, and those that were first will go to the back; for many are given the call, but only a few actually make the final cut.
20:17 - When Jesus was going to Jerusalem, he separated the disciples and said to them,
20:18 - See, we will go to Jerusalem and the Son of Man will be betrayed and turned over to the chief priests and leaders and they will kill him.
20:19 - And they will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will taunt him and crucify him, and on the third day, he will rise again.
20:20 - The mother of Zebedees’ children and her sons came to him and admired him, and also wanted a certain possession of his.
20:21 - And he asked her, what is your wish? She replied that her wish was that he grant her two sons a place in heaven to each sit beside him.
20:22 - Jesus answered, You don’t know what you’re asking. Can you drink from the cup I drink from? Can you be baptized with my baptism? They said, We can.
20:23 - He said to them, You will drink from my cup and receive my baptism, but I can’t let you sit on my left or right hand; those places are for the ones my Father has prepared.
20:24 - And when the ten became aware of it, they realized that two of the members of a male religious order are unworthy.
20:25 - But Jesus called out to them and said, you know that the princes of the Gentiles have power over them, and the mighty use their authority on them.
20:26 - But that will not be the case for you. Instead, let the best and most suitable of you be your leader and teacher.
20:27 - And whoever among you would be considered the boss, let him be your subordinate.
20:28 - The Son of man did not come to earth to be preached to, but to preach to the people and to die to pay for the sins of everyone.
20:29 - And as they left Jericho, a large crowd followed him.
20:30 - Look and see, two blind men were sitting by the side of the road, when they heard that Jesus was coming by them, they yelled to him, saying, bless us Lord, you are the son of David.
20:31 - And the public reject them, because they just need to act like they know nothing: but no one can stop them from speaking, Have pity on us, O Lord, Thou son of David.
20:32 - Standing still Jesus asked them, What shall I do to you?
20:33 - They said to the Lord, let our eyes be opened.
20:34 - Jesus was kind to them and touched thier eyes and then they could see and they became his followers.
