The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Matthew 2:1-10

2:1 - When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, King Herod ruled and wise men came to Jerusalem from the east.

2:2 - Saying to them, Where can we find the One who is born to be King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the East, and have come to worship at His feet.

2:3 - After Herod the king had heard these things, he was disturbed, as were all the others in Jerusalem.

2:4 - He ordered the high priests and the scribes to come to him, and he asked them to determine where Christ was going to be born.

2:5 - So they told the man, as it was foretold by a prophet in the past, it would be in Judaea in the town of Bethlehem,

2:6 - From you, Bethlehem, will arise a Governor that will rule over all of Israel.

2:7 - Then Herod, when he had the Wise Men in private where he could talk to them, pressed them for the exact time that they first saw the Star.

2:8 - They found the young child in Bethlehem and worshipped him.

2:9 - After their audience with the king, they left. And, there was the star, now in the eastern sky, and it seemed to move into a position directly ahead of them, and finally to a one above the location of the child.

2:10 - When the star was found, they triumphed with overwhelming happiness.

Matthew 2:11-23

2:11 - When they went inside, they saw Mary’s baby, dropped to their knees and worshiped him, then gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

2:12 - And because God had warned them in dream that they should not return to Herod, they left and returned to their country a different way.

2:13 - After they had left, an angel came to Joseph whilst he was sleeping, warning him to take his family and escape to Eygpt and to stay there until it was safe as Herod would want to find and kill the child.

2:14 - After he woke up that night, he took the mother and child, and left for Egypt:

2:15 - I have called my son out of Egypt since the death of Herod.

2:16 - King Herod had all the children from age two and under to be killed, since he was jealous of the Messiah.

2:17 - Then, just as the prophet Jeremy said it would,

2:18 - Great depression took over Rama sightings of Rachel crying for her children even though they were not hers.

2:19 - But when King Herod had died, incredibly, one of God’s angels came to Joseph as he dreamed in his bed at his residence in Egypt.

2:20 - They said, Arise, please take the child and his mother to the land of Israel: the ones that were seeking the child’s life are dead.

2:21 - Mother and child came into the land of Israel.

2:22 - But when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judaea in his Father Herod’s room, he was afraid to go. Even, being warned in a dream, he left and traveled to parts of Galilee.

2:23 - Jesus lived in a city named Naareth: this was so prophecy would be fulfilled that was spoken stating that Jesus would be called a Nazarene.
