The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Matthew 19:1-10

19:1 - And it happened that, when He had finished his talk, Jesus left Galilee to go to the coasts of Judea on the other side of Jordan;

19:2 - He healed a plethora of people there.

19:3 - The Pharisees came to Him, tempting Him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife, no matter what the reason?

19:4 - When he answered he said to them, Did you not read, that he had made them in the beginning male and female,

19:5 - And said, Is this the reason a man will leave his parents and join his wife and become one with her?

19:6 - And so they are no more two, but rather one; and those whom God has joined no one should separate.

19:7 - And then they asked why Moses would insist that a divorce be filed, and to get rid of the woman?

19:8 - He told them, Moses allowed you to leave your wives because you are cold. That is not how it has been from the beginning.

19:9 - And I tell you, If a man divorces his wife, unless it is because of fornication, and marries another woman, he is guilty of adultery; and the man who marries the divorced woman, is also guilty of adultery.

19:10 - His disciples said to him, If a man is like that with his wife then they shouldn’t get married.

Matthew 19:11-20

19:11 - Only those to whom this teaching is given may receive it.

19:12 - There are some people who are impotent from birth: while some people are impotent because people made them this way: as well as people who are impotent to sacrifice themselves for the kingdom of God. Whoever can accept this, let him accept it.

19:13 - Disciples rebuked Satan from entering children.

19:14 - But Jesus said, Suffer little children, but do not forbid them to come to me, for this is the Kingdom of Heaven.

19:15 - He put his hands on them and then left.

19:16 - And then, someone came and asked him, Master, what good thing can I do to inherit eternal life?

19:17 - And he said to him, Why are you calling me good? The only good one here is God: if you enter into life though, keep the beliefs alive.

19:18 - He said to him, Which? Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give a false testimony,

19:19 - Always respect your father and mother: and you should also love your neighbor as you love yourself.

19:20 - The young man asked him, I’ve kept all these things since I was a boy. What else do I need?

Matthew 19:21-30

19:21 - Jesus told him, If you want to be perfect, go sell everything you own, and give the money to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come with me.

19:22 - But when the young man heard what Jesus had said, he walked away very sadly: for he was rich with possessions.

19:23 - Jesus let his followers know that, Truthfully, rich men rarely get into heaven.

19:24 - And I tell you one more time, A camel will have a better chance of passing through an eye of a needle, than a rich man will have to get into God’s kingdom.

19:25 - When the disciples heard it, they asked in surprise, Who can be saved, then?

19:26 - But Jesus was able to keep their interest by telling them that all things, even those that seem impossible with mere men, are attainable with God.

19:27 - Peter then answered to him, look, I have left them all, and followed you; so what will we have now?

19:28 - And to the people, Jesus spoke, Truthfully I am telling you that all of you who become my disciples will come with me to Heaven when I return. You will be royalty and will reign over the tribes of Israel.

19:29 - Everyone who has given up a house, a sibling, a parent, a child, or lands for my sake will receive 10 times that in return and live forever.

19:30 - The ones who are first will be last; and the ones who are last will be first.
