Mark 9:1 - He said to them: I say to you, some of you that stand before me shall not taste death until they have seen the power of the kingdom of God.
Mark 9:2 - After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John and led them up to a high mountain separate from each other. There, Jesus transformed in front of them.
Mark 9:3 - His garments glowed with holiness, whiter than the whiteness of snow; whiter even than anything ever seen before.
Mark 9:4 - Then Elias and Moses showed up, while having a conversation with Jesus.
Mark 9:5 - And Peter replied to Jesus, Master, this is a good place for us, and let’s build three tabernacles: one each for you, Moses and Elias.
Mark 9:6 - He did not know what to say; because they were so afraid.
Mark 9:7 - A cloud cast a shadow over them: and a voice said, This is my Son, and I love him: listen to what he has to say.
Mark 9:8 - All of a sudden, after looking around, they couldn’t see anyone, except for Jesus and themselves.
Mark 9:9 - The all came down from the mountain, and after that he charged them that they should not tell any one about what they had seen, until the son of man had risen from the dead.
Mark 9:10 - They kept talking among themselves about what rising from the dead meant.
Mark 9:11 - Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?, they asked.
Mark 9:12 - When asked he told them Elias will come and restore all and everything. It is written that the Son of Man will suffer and be set at none.
Mark 9:13 - But I am telling you is this, Elias has truly already come and they have done to him what they would, just like it was foretold in the scriptures.
Mark 9:14 - And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great host of people around them, and the scribes questioning them.
Mark 9:15 - And when the people saw him, they were astonished and they all ran to him and greeted him.
Mark 9:16 - And he asked the scribes: What bothers you about them?
Mark 9:17 - A person in the crown said, Lord, I have brought my son to you who is mute.
Mark 9:18 - And wherever he goes, he tears at himself. And he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and grieves, wasting away. And I told your followers they should not turn him away, and they in fact could not.
Mark 9:19 - He answered, O faithless generation, how long will I remain with you? How long will I have to put up with you? Bring him to me.
Mark 9:20 - He was brought to him, and, when he saw him, he immediately fell to the ground and began to foam at the mouth.
Mark 9:21 - And he asked his father, how long has he had this condition? And he answered, Since childhood.
Mark 9:22 - It’s thrown him in the fire and waters in order to kill him and if you can’t do anything for our people than save us.
Mark 9:23 - Jesus said to him, All things are possible if you believe.
Mark 9:24 - The child’s father said to him with tears, I want to believe, help me with my doubts.
Mark 9:25 - When Jesus saw people panic, he punished the unwanted speech-and-deafness spirit by commanding it to to leave and never return.
Mark 9:26 - And the specter cried out and beat him and emerged, and he was nearly dead, so much so that people said he was in fact dead.
Mark 9:27 - He had risen after Jesus took his hand and lifted him up.
Mark 9:28 - And when he come inside the house, his disciples questioned him privately, Why were we not able to cast him out.
Mark 9:29 - And he told them, This kind comes out by prayer and fasting only.
Mark 9:30 - Then they left, and went through Galilee, and he didn’t want anyone to know.
Mark 9:31 - The disciples were taught The Son of Man will be killed,and after that he shall rise on the third day.
Mark 9:32 - But they didn’t understand what he was saying and they were too afraid to question him about it.
Mark 9:33 - And he arrived in Capernaum, and once they were inside he asked what they had been arguing about.
Mark 9:34 - But they remained silent, because they had been arguing about who was best among them.
Mark 9:35 - The teacher sat down, and called his followers, and told them, If any one wants to be the most important, he must be the least important and the slave of everyone else.
Mark 9:36 - Then he brought a child to him and while the crowds looked on, he embraced the child and said to them,
Mark 9:37 - Whomever receives a child in my name, receives me; whomever receives me, receives not just me, but the one that sent me.
Mark 9:38 - John answered him and said, Master we saw someone we did not know casting out devils in you name, and we told him to stop because he was not one of us.
Mark 9:39 - Jesus said do not stop him for no one who can do miraculous deeds in my name will ever speak wrongly on me.
Mark 9:40 - It is so, that those who aren’t against us are on our side.
Mark 9:41 - Because you belong to Christ, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in His name, be it known that you shall not lose your reward.
Mark 9:42 - If anyone offends or turns these children away from me who are filled with belief, he will wish that he were drowned in the sea with a weight around his neck.
Mark 9:43 - If you have the hand of a sinner, cut it off. It is better to go through life with one good hand than to face an afterlife in Hell with two hands.
Mark 9:44 - Where the worm doesn’t die, the fire is not fulfilled.
Mark 9:45 - And if it is your foot that causes you to fall into temptation, get rid of it; it would be better for you to enter into the life that God has for you lame, than having two good feet to be cast into hell, into a place where the fire never goes out.
Mark 9:46 - Where their worms don’t die, and the fire doesn’t go out.
Mark 9:47 - If the eye is critical it is better to cast it to the sea.
Mark 9:48 - Where their worm does not die, and the fire does not go out.
Mark 9:49 - Everyone will be showered with fire and all sacrifices should be preserved with salt.
Mark 9:50 - Salt is a good thing but if it lost it’s flavor would you still use it as a seasoning? Keep faith in your heart and you will have peace with each other.
