The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Mark 13:1-10

13:1 - And as he left the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Master, look at the types of stones and buildings here!

13:2 - Jesus answered him by saying, Do you see these great buildings? They shall be torn down so that not one stone will be left on top of another.

13:3 - He sat down upon the mount of Olives leaning against the temple. Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately,

13:4 - Tell us when these things will happen and what kind of sign we’ll get to tell us when they’ve happened.

13:5 - Jesus answered them but first said Pay attention so you don’t let anyone take advantage of you.

13:6 - Many people will claim that they are me, Christ, and they will fool a lot of people.

13:7 - When you hear about wars or rumors of wars, don’t worry because these things will happen but that does not mean it is the end of the world.

13:8 - At the time of the end, all shall stand against each other and earthquakes will occur under the oceans and there will be starvation and other difficulties everywhere.

13:9 - But be cautious; because of your ties with me, they will bring you before councils, and beat you in the temples, and force you to incriminate me before kings and rulers.

13:10 - Now the gospel must be published around the world.

Mark 13:11-20

13:11 - But when you are lead from danger and brought to safety, don’t give a premeditated speech, but say what’s in your heart at that time for it is the spirit of God that inspires your tongue.

13:12 - Now, the brother will betray his brother to his death and the same with the father and son. The children are going to go against their parents and kill them.

13:13 - And people will hate you because of your association with me, but those who endure until the end will be saved.

13:14 - When you see the abomination of desolation, wrote Daniel the prophet, standing where it shouldn’t, (those who read this will understand), then flee to the mountains of Judea.

13:15 - Do not let the man on the top of the house go in to take anything out.

13:16 - He that is in his field should not return, even to get his clothes.

13:17 - This will be bad news for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding a child!

13:18 - I hope that you do not have to travel in the winter.

13:19 - At that time there will be suffering, the likes of which there has never been and will never be again.

13:20 - God may choose to bring believers to heaven early during this period of time but other people will suffer a great deal.

Mark 13:21-30

13:21 - So if anyone tells you, Here is Christ or there is Christ, do not believe him.

13:22 - For there shall be false Christs and false prophets pop up, they will perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if it were possible, even the chosen.

13:23 - But really think long and hard: I have told you in advance all things.

13:24 - Then, after that pain, the sun won’t come up, and the moon won’t provide her with light,

13:25 - The stars of heaven will fall and the powers from heaven will be shaken.

13:26 - Then they will see the Son of man descend from the heavens with great power and glory.

13:27 - He will send his angels and his chosen few from the four winds, from the farthest part of the world to the farthest part of heaven.

13:28 - Take a lesson from the fig tree, for when her branches bear leaves, you know that summer is almost here.

13:29 - In the same way you will recognize when it is about to occur.

13:30 - Listen to what I say, all of this must be accomplished in your generation.

Mark 13:31-37

13:31 - When nothing else remains, only these things I speak will remain.

13:32 - The judgment day is not known by any man, nor by the angels or even by the Son of God, but by God alone.

13:33 - Be cautious, alert and prayerful, because you don’t know what lies ahead.

13:34 - Servants have the authority to watch over the house of the Son of Man, and the porter to watch.

13:35 - Be ready, then, because you don’t know when the master of the house will return home, at dusk, or midnight, or dawn, or morning:

13:36 - So that he does not arrive unexpectedly to find you sleeping.

13:37 - I have told you to watch like I have told everyone else.
