The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Mark 11:1-10

11:1 - As soon as the they neared Jerusalem, near Bethphage and Bethany, pretty much on the mount of Olives, he sent over two of his disciples,

11:2 - He said to them, Go into the next village. As soon as you enter it you shall see a colt tied there that has never been ridden; untie him and bring him.

11:3 - If anyone asks you, Why have you done this? say that the Lord needed you, and he will come to your aid.

11:4 - They were traveling along, and discovered a young male horse bound near the doorway in a location in the middle of the way; and they set the animal free.

11:5 - And some of those that stood there said to them, What are you doing? loosing the horse?

11:6 - And they said to them what Jesus had told them to say, and they let them go.

11:7 - They brought the colt to Jesus and set down garments onto it. Jesus then sat upon it.

11:8 - And many spread their cloaks out along the path, while others cut down tree branches and spread those out along the path.

11:9 - Those that were already there, and those that came after him, shouted out; Blessed is Jesus that comes in the Lord’s name.

11:10 - We exalt our ancestor, David, and his kingdom; we know his kingdom lasts forever because his descendant, Jesus, the Messiah, will one day reign.

Mark 11:11-20

11:11 - Jesus arrived in Jerusalem into the temple, where he surveyed the area until dark. He then headed out onto Bethany with the twelve.

11:12 - The next day, when they arrived from Bethany, he was hungry:

11:13 - He went to see if there were figs on the tree and was dissapointed when
all he found was leaves.

11:14 - Jesus spoke to it, saying None shall eat of your fruit forever after from this day forward, and all his disciples listened to him.

11:15 - And they arrived at Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to drive out the people who were selling and buying in the temple, and he turned over the tables of the moneychangers, and the chairs of those selling doves;

11:16 - And would not allow anyone to carry vessels through the temple.

11:17 - He preached unto them what wasn’t written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but you have made it a place of thieves.

11:18 - The scribes and chief priests heard it and tried to figure out how to destroy him; for they feared him and what he had written in his doctrine.

11:19 - And at nightfall, he left the city.

11:20 - And when they passed by in the morning, they saw the entire fig tree had withered and died.

Mark 11:21-33

11:21 - And Peter prodded Jesus’s memory, saying: Master, look, the fig tree you cursed has withered and died.

11:22 - Jesus answered them by saying, have faith in God.

11:23 - I am telling you the truth, Anybody that speaks to this mountain, Mountain be removed, and be thrown into the sea; and shall have no doubts in his heart, but shall believe that the things that he has spoken shall happen; he shall have whatever he has spoken.

11:24 - So therefore, let me tell you, that you can get whatever it is you want if you’ll just pray about it and believe that you’ll get it.

11:25 - Forgive those you have anything against while praying because your Father in heaven might forgive you of your trespasses.

11:26 - God does not forgive if you do not forgive others.

11:27 - They returned to Jerusalem, and as he walked through the synagogue, the rabbis and scribes and elders came up to him,

11:28 - And they asked him, By what authority do you do these things and who gave you the authority to do them?

11:29 - Jesus said, I will ask you one question. If you answer me correctly, I will tell you who I am.

11:30 - About John’s baptism, was it destiny, or the acts of mortals? tell me.

11:31 - And they discussed their answer, saying, If we agree that John was from heaven, he will ask why didn’t we believe him?

11:32 - John the prophet was counted on by all the people who feared.

11:33 - And they told Jesus, we can’t say. And Jesus replied to them, then I can’t tell you how I am able to do these things.
