Luke 7:1-10

7:1 - When he finished speaking to the crowd, he went into Capernaum.

7:2 - And a centurion’s servant, that he loved very much, was sick and about to die.

7:3 - And when he heard about Jesus, he sent the elders of the Jews to see Jesus and beg him to come and heal his servant.

7:4 - Jesus helped because the man was worthy.

7:5 - Because he loves our country he created a synagogue for us.

7:6 - As Jesus approached the centurion’s house his friends approached the Messiah to relay the message that he was not worthy of having Christ enter his home.

7:7 - I’m not Jewish and I don’t deserve to have you visit my house, but I know that if you say a single word, my servant will be made whole.

7:8 - Though I have soldiers under me, I am also just a man under someone else’s control. I tell one man to go, and he goes. I tell another man to come, and he comes. I tell my servant what to do and he does it.

7:9 - When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and turned him towards the crowd and said, I have never seen such a strong faith, not even in Israel

7:10 - When they returned home they found that the sick servant was now healthy and well.

Luke 7:11-20

7:11 - It passed after the day he went to Nain; with many of his followers going with him.

7:12 - Arriving at the city gates he saw a large funeral procession for the only son of a widowed mother.

7:13 - When God saw her, he had mercy on her, saying to her, Do not weep.

7:14 - And he approached the coffin and touched it. Those that carried it stood still. Then he said, Young man, I tell you, Arise.

7:15 - The dead man sat up and started to talk and subsequently they took him to his mother.

7:16 - Then everyone became afraid, and they praised God. A great prophet has risen among us, and God has visited his people, they said.

7:17 - The rumor of him traveled through Judea and the regions around it.

7:18 - The followers of John showed him all of these things.

7:19 - And John brought two of his followers to him and told them to approach Jesus and ask him if he were the one they were waiting for or if they should continue to wait for someone else.

7:20 - The men were sent by John Baptist to find him but they weren’t sure it was him.

Luke 7:21-30

7:21 - He helped many and cured their illnesses.

7:22 - Jesus said to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard, that the blind can see and the handicapped can walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf can hear, the dead live again an d the gospel is preached to the poor people.

7:23 - Blessed is the man or woman who isn’t offended by me.

7:24 - And when John’s couriers had left, he began to talk to the people about himself, What did you come out to the wilderness to see? A reed being whipped about by the wind?

7:25 - But what were you looking to see? A man finely dressed? Behold, those who are luxuriously dressed and live in comfort are to be found in the kings’ courts.

7:26 - Were you looking for a prophet? I told you you’d find more than a prophet.

7:27 - This is the one whose coming was foretold, Look, I am sending a messenger before you, who will make everything ready for you.

7:28 - I am telling you that John the Baptist is the greatest prophet among men: but in the kingdom of God all are greater than he.

7:29 - And everyone who listened to him, including the publicans, thought it was right of God, being baptized by John being baptized.

7:30 - The Pharisees and attorneys refused the counseling of the Lord concerning them, as they had not been baptized unto the Lord.

Luke 7:31-40

7:31 - God said, Where unto then shall I liken the men of this generation? And to what are they like?

7:32 - They seemed the same as little children sitting in the streets calling We have played music for you but you will not dance, we have told you of our sorrows but you have not cried.

7:33 - Since John the Baptist did not eat or drink at the time, you say , he was possessed by the devil.

7:34 - The Son of man is eating and drinking and you say, Look at the greedy man, and an alcoholic, a friend of publicans and criminals!

7:35 - Knowledge is made sense of all her children.

7:36 - A Pharisees wished that he would share a meal with him. In turn, he sat down to a meal with the Pharisee, in his house.

7:37 - Look, when this sinful lady from town knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharaisee’s house, she brought a expensive stone container of salve.

7:38 - As she stood at his feet crying, she began to wash his feet with her tears while wiping them with her hair followed by her kisses and a layer of ointment

7:39 - When the Pharisee who called for him saw it, he said to himself, If this man was a real prophet, he would have known what kind of woman it is who’s touching him; she is a sinner.

7:40 - Jesus answered Simon and told him he had something to say to him. Simon in response encouraged Jesus to speak.

Luke 7:41-50

7:41 - There were two debtors who owed the same creditor; one owing him fifty pence, and the other owed him five hundred.

7:42 - When they didn’t have any money to give, he simply forgave both of them. So tell me which one of them is going to love him the most?

7:43 - Simon answered, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. Thou has rightly judged.

7:44 - He turned to the woman and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered the house and you gave me no water for my feet, but she washed my feet with tears and dried it with her hair.

7:45 - This woman shows me the utmost respect and adoration while you show me none.

7:46 - You anointed my head with oil: but this woman, my feet with ointment.

7:47 - I tell you now that her many sins have been forgiven, because she showed a lot of love; but the person who shows little love will receive little forgiveness.

7:48 - He said to her, that all our sins are forgiven.

7:49 - The people who were with him at dinner began to ask themselves who this was person also forgiving sins?

7:50 - He said to the woman, Your faith has saved you. Now go in peace.
