The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Luke 23:1-10

23:1 - The crowd rose up and led him to Pilate.

23:2 - So they started saying he had committed treason by telling people not to worship or pay tribute to the King, Ceasar, who had said he was the savior.

23:3 - So Pilate asked hi, Are you really the King of all of the Jews? and he answered him by saying Well, you said so!

23:4 - Then Pilate said to the Chief Priests and the people, This man is innocent.

23:5 - And they were even more worked up and said, He is stirring up the people, teaching Jews in all the lands they occupy, beginning with Galilee and recently reaching this place.

23:6 - When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked if the man was from Galilee.

23:7 - The moment he knew he was in Herod’s district he sent him to Herod who was also in Jerusalem.

23:8 - Herod was very happy when he saw Jesus. He had wanted to see Jesus for a long time because he had heard a lot about Him, and he was hoping to see a miracle.

23:9 - Then he asked him a lot of questions; but he did not give an answer.

23:10 - All the chief priests and scribes stood up and hatefully blamed him.

Luke 23:11-20

23:11 - Herod and his soldiers were cruel and disrespectful by mocking Him and making him wear clothing as if He were a king and then they sent him to Pilate again.

23:12 - And that same day, Pilate and Herod (who hated each other before), became friends.

23:13 - Then Pilate, when he had summoned the high priests, the rulers, and the masses,

23:14 - Said to them, You have brought this man before me as one who perverts the people: yet upon examining him in your presence, I find not fault in these acts of which you accuse him:

23:15 - Herod didn’t find that He had done anything against the law or worthy of capital punishment either.

23:16 - I’ll punish him then let him go.

23:17 - (Because it is necessary that he give them one during the feast.)

23:18 - The crowd yelled, take this man away and free Barrabus.

23:19 - (In the city who positively made sedition, because of murder, was sentenced to prison.)

23:20 - Then Pilate, was then open to release Jesus, spoke to them again.

23:21 - But they screamed, shouting to kill him, murder him.

23:23 - The mob yelled for him to be crucified, as did the chief priests. And so it was done.

23:24 - And Pilate ordered the sentence to be granted so they could have what they desired.

23:25 - And he realeased the murderer Barabus, for whom they had asked; and sent Jesus to die to please the crowd.

23:26 - As they took him away, they captured a Cyrenian named Simon leaving the country and assigned the cross to him, so he could carry it after Jesus.

23:27 - A large crowd of people followed him, including many women who cried and wailed for him.

23:28 - Jesus turned to the daughters of Jerusalem and said, don’t weep for me, weep for yourselves and your children.

23:29 - Look out; the time is coming when the Blessed people male and female will be those who cannot have children, and those who miscarried.

23:30 - Then they will shout to the mountains, Collapse on us; and to the foothills, Hide us.

23:33 - And so it came to pass that Jesus was crucified at Calvary between two men.

23:34 - Jesus said to God, forgive them since they are unaware of the wrong they do. And they took his clothes and started betting on the outcome.

23:35 - Everybody stood around and wouldn’t help because if he was really Christ, he would save himself.

23:36 - The soldiers made fun of him too and and offered him vinegar to drink.

23:37 - They said, If you are the king of the Jews then prove it by doing something to save yourself.

23:38 - A sign was hung over him in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, which said, This is the King of the Jews.

23:39 - One of the criminals that were being hanged criticized him, saying, If you are Christ, then save yourself and all of us.

23:40 - But the other scolded him and asked, Don’t you respect God, since you’re in the same fix?

Luke 23:41-50

23:41 - And so it should be because our actions have consequences but this man hadn’t done anything wrong.

23:42 - He asked Jesus, Lord, please remember when when I come into your kingdom.

23:43 - And Jesus said to him, I promise you, today you will be with me in paradise.

23:44 - Around the sixth hour of the day, there was complete darkness covering the Earth until the ninth hour of the day.

23:45 - Then the sunlight faded away, and temple’s curtain was torn down the middle.

23:46 - Jesus cried aloud, Father, I give myself again to you: his final deed done, he died.

23:47 - When the centurion noticed what had been done, he praise God, speking that God was indeed a good man.

23:48 - And all of the people who saw it together, seeing the things that were done, beat their chests, and returned.

23:49 - With his acquaintances and the women of Galilee, they stood distant from him, shielding their lives from him.

23:53 - And he took Jesus’ body down and wrapped it in linen. He laid it in a tomb behind a stone where no man had ever been laid.

23:54 - This day, of all days was the beginning, as the sabbath continued on.

23:55 - The women who came with him from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb and how his body was laid.

23:56 - They returned and prepared the spices and ointments and then they rested on the sabbath day as they were commanded to do.
