The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Luke 17:1-10

17:1 - The said to the disciples, It is impossible that offenses wont come: but caution to him, through who might bring them!

17:2 - It would be far safer to wear a pair of concrete boots in the ocean than to irritate these guys.

17:3 - Take this to heart: if someone does something to harm you, let him know that he has harmed you; if he apologizes, forgive him.

17:4 - No matter how many times he sins against you, if he asks your forgiveness, you will give it to him.

17:5 - The apostles said to Jesus, help us to have the amount of faith You want us to have.

17:6 - The Lord answered, If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and plant yourself in the sea,’ and that would obey you!

17:7 - Who here would say to their servant when he comes in from the field plowing and feeding the cows, Go and sit down to eat?

17:8 - And would not want to tell him, Prepare so I can eat, and you prepare to serve me, and you can eat and drink after me.

17:9 - Does he thank the person who was forced to do those things? I don’t think so.

17:10 - So, when you have done everything you’ve been asked, say: We are a non-profit organization and have done our duty.

Luke 17:11-20

17:11 - And when he entered Jerusalem he went by Samaria and Galilee.

17:12 - When he entered a specific village, there were ten men that were pariah and stood far away from him.

17:13 - They cried out, Jesus, Lord, show mercy.

17:14 - When they were seen, they were told by him, Take yourselves to the priests. So it happened, that, when they went, they became cleansed.

17:15 - When he saw he was cured, he turned around and shouted great praises to God,

17:16 - He was so grateful to him that he humbled himself before him: and he was a Samaritan.

17:17 - Jesus answered, saying Were there not ten healed? Where are the other nine?

17:18 - The only person who returned to glorify God is this stranger.

17:19 - And he told the man, Stand up and walk, your faith has made you well.

17:20 - When the Pharisees demanded to know when the kingdom of God will come, he said to them, The kingdom of god does not come when you are looking for it.

Luke 17:21-30

17:21 - They will not say It is here! or It is there!, because the kingdom of God is inside you.

17:22 - And unto the disciples he said, The time will come, when you will long to see the days of the Son of man, but you will not.

17:23 - They will say to you, see here or there: but do not go after them or follow them.

17:24 - Because like lightning, that doesn’t light one part under heaven, shines onto another part, like the Son of man in his day.

17:25 - But first he has to go through a lot of hardships, and be rejected by his peers.

17:26 - It will be so in the days of the Son of man just as it was in the days of Noe.

17:27 - People led their normal lives, eating, drinking, getting married, until the very day Noah got into his boat. Then the flood happened and they were all destroyed.

17:28 - It was also like this in Lot’s day during which they went about their daily lives, trading, farming and building.

17:29 - On the same day that Lot left Sodom, it was bombed and everyone was destroyed.

17:30 - This is how it will be when the Son of man is identified.

Luke 17:31-37

17:31 - When the time comes, whoever is on top of the house with his things in that house, he should not come down to get anything: and the one who is out in the field should not come back again.

17:32 - Don’t forget what happened to Lot’s wife.

17:33 - If you think only of yourself, you will die, but if you act selflessly you will live forever.

17:34 - I’m telling you now, on that night there will be two men sleeping in the same bed; one will be taken while the other is left.

17:35 - Two women would be grinding together; one will be taken away and the other will stay.

17:36 - Two people shall be together; one will be taken, and the other left behind.

17:37 - They asked him, Where will they go? and Jesus answered, Where ever there is a body, you’ll find vultures.
