The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Luke 12:51-59

12:51 - Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I do not bring peace, I bring divisiveness:

12:52 - In one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three.

12:53 - The father will be fighting with the son, and the son will fight the father; the mother shall attack the daughter and the daughter will attack the mother; the mother-in-law will fight against the daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law shall fight against her mother-in-law.

12:54 - He said to the people, when you see a cloud in the west, water will come.

12:55 - When the south wind begins to blow, you will say, There will be passing warmth.

12:56 - You hypocrites, you can tell the color of the sky and of the earth; but how are you are unable to tell what time this is?

12:57 - Why do you not, even of your own accord, judge what you can see is not righteous?

12:58 - If you go to court against someone, be sure to be careful as you may find that the judge will find against you and send you to jail.

12:59 - You can’t leave until your dues are settled.

Luke 13:1-10

13:1 - Some of the people who were with him at the time told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

13:2 - And Jesus answered, saying to them: Do you think that these Galileans were the biggest sinners of all the Galileans just because they went through such terrible experiences?

13:3 - I say no. But unless you repent, you’ll all die just the same.

13:4 - As for the eighteen people who were killed when the tower of Siloam fell on them, do you believe that they were worse sinners than all the people that lived in Jerusalem?

13:5 - I am telling you, If you don’t ask for forgiveness from your sins, you will all die.

13:6 - He also spoke of this lesson; A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard; he went to get fruit from it yet there were none.

13:7 - He spoke to his vineyard dresser, the three years that i have traveled looking for the fig tree with fruit, I haven’t found any: so chop it down, and not take up the ground space with it.

13:8 - And he replied, Master, let it sit idle this year too, until I can dig the field and fertilize it:

13:9 - And if it grows fruit, that’s good, and if not then you must cut it down.

13:10 - He was teaching in a temple on the week’s holy day.

13:13 - And when he touched her, she instantly snapped out of her delusion, and she began praising the Lord.

13:14 - The head of the synagoge replied with anger at the notion that Jesus would heal on the sabbath, he said that six days of seven were for work, and those were the days to come for Jesus to heal, not the sabbath.

13:15 - The Lord answered him saying, you hypocrite, don’t all of you takes his ox or his ass, from their stall, to lead them to water?

13:16 - Should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham and a prisoner of Satan for eighteen years, be freed from her bonds on the sabbath day?

13:17 - For all the glorious things that were done by him, the people rejoiced, and his words put his adversaries to shame.

13:18 - He said, What is Heaven like? What could I compare it to?

13:19 - It’s similar to a tiny seed taken by someone and planted in the earth, and then it grew into a large tree. The birds soaring above landed on its limbs.

13:20 - Repeated himself, Where will I put the kingdom of God?

Luke 13:21-30

13:21 - It is like yeast, which a woman sneaked into three cups of flour so that the dough rose.

13:22 - And he traversed throughout the towns and all the land, providing his knowledge to all he met, and traveling unto Jerusalem.

13:23 - One of them said to him, Will only a few of them be saved? And he told them,

13:24 - Reach ahead to enter in at the narrow gate: as many will try to enter and not all will be able to.

13:25 - When the head of the household has gotten up and shut the door, and people stand outside, knocking and begging him to open the door, he will say to them, I don’t know who you are:

13:26 - Then you’ll say, We ate and drank with you and you taught in our streets.

13:27 - For he will say, I will not acknowledge you; leave me now, all of you who practice sin.

13:28 - You will be very mad and upset when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and all the other prophets in Heaven and you will not be let in.

13:32 - He told them to go and tell that fox that today I will heal people and cast out evil spirits today and tomorrow, and I will be perfected on the third day.

13:33 - Regardless, I will continue to walk today, tomorrow, and the next day: It will not be so that a prophet is destroyed out of Jerusalem.

13:34 - Jerusalem, how I love you and tried to gather you so close to me, but no - you stone and kill the prophets I sent to save you.

13:35 - You can see that your home is yours in desolation: I tell you now that you will not see me until you profess, Blessed is the person who walks in the name of the Lord.
