John 6:1-10

John 6:1 - Following this, Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, also known as Tiberias.

John 6:2 - They saw his miracles on the diseased so they followed.

John 6:3 - Jesus went up into the mountain and sat with his disciples.

John 6:4 - The feast of the Jews, known as passover, was that night.

John 6:5 - When Jesus saw a lot of people coming to visit him, he said when will we go and buy bread so that everyone may eat?

John 6:6 - He knew what was going to happen so he made people believe by telling them.

John 6:7 - Philip said, That’s not enough bread for them, even if they take only a little bit each.

John 6:8 - Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, and one of his disciples said to him,

John 6:9 - There is a boy here with five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but how can this feed the crowds here?

John 6:10 - Jesus asked that the men sit on the suddenly expansive grass. The men, numbering around five thousand, sat.

John 6:11-20

John 6:11 - Jesus took the bread and gave thanks, then gave the loaves to his disciples who passed them on to those who were seated; he did the same with the fish.

John 6:12 - When they had ate all they needed he told his helpers to pick up the leftovers so nothing would be wasted.

John 6:13 - So they filled up twelve baskets with the five barley loaves that were leftover after they had eaten.

John 6:14 - Once the men witnessed the miracle that Jesus performed they said this prophet must come into the world to do good things.

John 6:15 - As soon as Jesus realized that they wanted take him against his will and make him king, he fled to the mountains.

John 6:16 - In the evening, his disciples went out to the sea.

John 6:17 - And sailed over the sea toward Capernaum, and when night fell, Jesus hadn’t yet arrived.

John 6:18 - And the sea rose up due to the blowing of a mighty wind.

John 6:19 - They rowed and rowed and were frightened when they saw Jesus walking on the sea, getting close to the ship.

John 6:20 - But Jesus said to them, It is I; do not be afraid.

John 6:21-30

John 6:21 - At the moment they welcomed him onto the ship, they found that they had been immediately transported to their destination.

John 6:22 - The next day, when the people that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat, except the one that his disciples got into, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples in the boat, but his disciples went away alone;

John 6:23 - Even though the Lord had given thanks, the boats came from Tiberias.

John 6:24 - When the people saw that neither Jesus nor his followers were there, they in turn took passage on ships, sailing to Capernaum, in search of Jesus.

John 6:25 - When they saw him on another continent, they asked, when did you come here?

John 6:26 - Jesus answered them saying, Truly, truly, I tell you, you look for me not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.

John 6:27 - Do not work for the meat that rots, but for that meat which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for him has God the Father sealed.

John 6:28 - Then they said to him,What can we do, that would be God’s will?

John 6:29 - Jesus responded, This is God’s work that you should know who sent me.

John 6:30 - Hence, they responded, show us the money or take your show back on the road.

John 6:31-40

John 6:31 - Our forefathers did eat manna in the Sinai desert: as it says in the Scripture, He gave them heaven-sent bread to eat.

John 6:32 - After which Jesus told them, Truly, truly, I tell you, Moses did not give you heaven’s bread but my Father provides you with heaven’s real bread.

John 6:33 - The one who came from heaven is God’s son.

John 6:34 - They said to him, Lord, give us this bread forever.

John 6:35 - And Jesus told them, I am living bread: if anyone comes to me, he will never be hungry again; if anyone believes in me, he shall never be thirsty again.

John 6:36 - But I am telling you, That you are also looking at me, and you don’t believe.

John 6:37 - I have everything that Father gave Me and anyone who comes to Me will not be turned aside or cast away.

John 6:38 - For I did not come down from heaven in order to fulfill my own plan. Rather, I am here to fulfill the plan of the one that sent me here.

John 6:39 - I am here at the behest of my Father who has decided to take away nothing he has given me but to bring it back again during the final day.

John 6:40 - This is my Father’s words: That whoever sees the Son and put belief on him should commit eternal life, and I myself will raise him up on the last day.

John 6:41-50

John 6:41 - A lot of murmurs came from the Jews when he said, I am the bread that comes to you from heaven.

John 6:42 - And they asked, Isn’t this Jesus, Joseph’s son, whose father and mother is known to us? How then can he claim that he came down from Heaven?

John 6:43 - Jesus finally answered them and said, do not talk among yourselves.

John 6:44 - There is no man who can approach me, without the Father who sent me attracts him: and I am going to lift him up when the end of time comes.

John 6:45 - The seers foretold that all should hear of God and his teachings, and that all who heard of the Father would come to me.

John 6:46 - No man has seen the Father unless he is of God.

John 6:47 - Truly, truly I say to you that whoever believes in me has everlasting life

John 6:48 - I am the support of life.

John 6:49 - Your fathers are dead from eating manna in the wild.

John 6:50 - This is the bread that falls from heaven to sustain man.

John 6:51-60

John 6:51 - I am like living bread sent from heaven for you. My body is the bread and I give it to the world. Anyone who chooses to eat of it will live forever.

John 6:52 - The Jewish people went around wondering if the man could give them his flesh to eat.

John 6:53 - Then Jesus said to them, Truly, I tell you that you must eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood to have everlasting life.

John 6:54 - Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood will have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.

John 6:55 - Offering myself in flesh is a hearty food to partake of and thirsting after me will be quenched by my blood.

John 6:56 - Together we become one as you drink my blood and eat my flesh.

John 6:57 - Since the living Father has sent me, and I live of the Father, so those that eat me, they will also live of me.

John 6:58 - This is the bread from heaven: not like your fathers ate manna, and are dead: he that eats this bread will live forever.

John 6:59 - He said these things in the synagogue while he was teaching in Capernaum.

John 6:60 - A lot of his disciples heard this and asked, This is difficult, who can hear this?

John 6:61-71

John 6:61 - Jesus knew his friends were talking about it so he asked, this offends you, doesn’t it?

John 6:62 - What will happen if the Son of man returns to heaven?

John 6:63 - It’s the spirit that goes on, the flesh has no life of its own. The things I say to you are like spirit, because they have life in them.

John 6:64 - But here there are certain people who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the start who they were who would not believe and the one who would be his betrayer.

John 6:65 - You can do nothing to me that my Father did not intend.

John 6:66 - And after that many of Jesus’s disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

John 6:67 - Then Jesus asked the twelve of them: Are you also going to leave?

John 6:68 - Simon Peter replied to Him, Lord, to whom are we supposed to go? Your teachings told us about eternal life.

John 6:69 - And we are now convinced that you are the true Christ, God’s Son.

John 6:70 - Jesus spoke saying I have chose you twelve men and one of you is a devil.

John 6:71 - He spoke about Simon’s son, Judas Iscariot who, of all the twelve, was the one who would betray him
