John 4:1-10

John 4:1 - The LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus had more disciples than John,

John 4:2 - Although Jesus was not baptized, he baptized his disciples.

John 4:3 - He traveled from Judea into Galilee

John 4:4
- He has to go through Samaria.

John 4:5 - Then he came to Sychar, a city of Samaria, near the piece of land that Jacob gave his son Joseph.

John 4:6 - Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired from his journey and sat on Jacob’s well; and it was almost the sixth hour.

John 4:7 - A lady came and gave Jesus water at his request.

John 4:8 - (Jesus’s disciples had left to go to the city and get some food.)

John 4:9 - And the woman of Samaria asked of Jesus, How is it that you ask me for a drink of water since the Jews have nothing to do with Samaritans?

John 4:10 - Jesus replied saying to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is that is saying ‘Give me it to drink’ then you would have asked him, and he would have given you the water of life.

John 4:11-20

John 4:11 - The woman said to him, Mister, you don’t have a bucket to fill with water, and the well is very deep: where do you have that living water?

John 4:12 - Do you think you’re any better than our father Jacob who gave us the business that sustained him and his children?

John 4:13 - Jesus answered saying to her, Whoever drinks this water will never be thirsty again.

John 4:14 - But anyone who drinks the water I provide for him will never be thirsty; because the water I provide him with will be like a well which rises up to never ending life.

John 4:15 - The woman said to him, Give me this water so that I will not be thirsty and I will not have to come here again to get water.

John 4:16 - Jesus aid to her, Go call your husband and come over here.

John 4:17 - The woman replied, I don’t have a husband. Jesus said to her, You are right about that — you actually don’t have a husband:

John 4:18 - You’ve had five husbands; and the man you are with now is not your husband: that is true.

John 4:19 - The woman said to him, I see that you are a prophet.

John 4:20 - Although our ancestors worshiped in this mountain, Jerusalem is the correct place where men should worship and pray.

John 4:21-30

John 4:21 - Jesus told her, I promise a time shall come when you will worship the Father, and not just in the mountains or in Jerusalem.

John 4:22 - You do not know your idols; we know well the object of our devotion, for it will save the Jews.

John 4:23 - The hours comes and now true worshipers should worship our Father in spirit and truth for He looks for those who worship him.

John 4:24 - God is a supernatural being and the people that exalt him must exalt him spiritually and truthfully.

John 4:25 - The woman said, I know that the Savior is coming, the one they call the Christ, and when he gets here, he is going to tell us everything we need to know.

John 4:26 - Jesus told her, I that talks to you am he.

John 4:27 - His disciples came onto the scene and were astonished that he was speaking with this particular woman; despite this none of them said What are you trying to find out? or, Why are you talking with her?

John 4:28 - The woman left her water pot behind, and went to the city, to tell the men,

John 4:29 - Come and see a man who has told me all I ever did: is this the Christ?

John 4:30
- Then they left the city and ran into him.

John 4:31-40

John 4:31 - In the meantime his disciples made a request to him, saying, Eat Master.

John 4:32 - But he said to them, I have meat to eat that you’re not aware of.

John 4:33
- The disciples said to each other, Has anybody given him something to eat?

John 4:34 - Jesus said to them, my goal is do what he sent me to do and to finish the work that he started.

John 4:35
- Didn’t you say that there are four more months before harvest time? I tell you, look out at the fields. They are white and ready to harvest.

John 4:36 - The person who does the work gets paid, and gets the ultimate gift of eternal life: so that those who have worked together can be happy together.

John 4:37 - And that saying is true here: One sows, another reaps.

John 4:38 - I asked you to go and gather the rewards of those who labored for you.

John 4:39 - They believed the lady who told the Samaritans about him.

John 4:40 - The Samaritans came to him and begged him to visit and he stayed with them for two days.

John 4:41-54

John 4:41 - And many more people came to believe because of what he said.

John 4:42 - Had he said to the woman, We believe not because of what you have said, since we have seen him for ourselves and know it is true that he is the Christ, who is the Saviour of the world.

John 4:43 - After two days he left there and went to Galilee.

John 4:44
- For as Jesus himself said, a prophet is not respected in his own country.

John 4:45 - When he arrived in Galilee, he was welcomed by the Galilaeans, who had attended the feast in Jerusalem and had seen all that he had done there.

John 4:46 - Jesus returned to Cana which is in Galilee–the place where he performed his first miracle, turning water into wine. At Cana, there was a man with high status who had a sick son in Capernaum.

John 4:47 - When he learned that Jesus was leaving Judea and going to Galilee he went to him and begged him to visit his son who was very close to death.

John 4:48 - Then Jesus told him, You will not believe unless you see miracles with your own eyes.

John 4:49
- And the nobleman said to Him, Sir, come to my home before my child dies.

John 4:50 - Jesus said to him, Go and find that your son is alive and the man believed the words Jesus said and went home.

John 4:51 - As he was going down his servants found him and told him that his son was still alive.

John 4:52 - He asked them when the sick man began to get better, they told him yesterday at 7: the man’s fever broke and he began to heal.

John 4:53
- So the father knew it was at the same time, that Jesus said to him. Your son lives: and he and his house are loved.

John 4:54 - And Jesus performed another miracle once he left Judea and came to Galilee.
