The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

John 21:1-10

John 21:1 - Once these things came to pass, Jesus again wisely appeared once again to the followers at the sea of Tiberias.

John 21:2
- Altogether were Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee,

John 21:3 - Simon Peter told them he was going fishing. They replied that they would go also. They left and immediately boarded a boat; and they did not catch anything that evening.

John 21:4 - At dawn, Jesus stood on the beach, and the disciples saw Him but they had no idea it was Jesus.

John 21:5 - Then Jesus said, Children, do you have any meat? They said, No.

John 21:6 - And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship. They cast their net and when they tried to pull it up, found it so heavy with fish that they could not lift it into the boat.

John 21:7 - So that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter: It is the Lord. When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his fisherman’s coat to cover his nakedness and he threw himself into the sea.

John 21:8 - Because they were in shallow water, their boat was smaller and they fished with a net.

John 21:9 - As soon as they got to land, they saw a big fire there cooking fish and bread.

John 21:10 - Jesus told them to bring the fish they caught.

John 21:11-20

John 21:11 - Simon Peter went and drew the net to land: it was full of large fish; there were one hundred fifty-three in all, and yet despite the great number, the net was not broken.

John 21:12 - None of the disciples dared to ask Who are you? when Jesus said to them Come and dine, for they knew it was the Lord.

John 21:13 - Then Jesus came, with bread, and gave some to them, and fish also.

John 21:14 - Since he had died, this was the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples.

John 21:15 - So when they’d eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, do you love me more than the others? Simon said, Yes, you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my lambs.

John 21:16 - He asked Simon once and then again, Jonas’ son, do you love me? Simon replied, Yes, Lord, you know I love you. He replied to him, Nourish the sheep that belong to me.

John 21:17 - He asked Simon, son of Jonas, a third time, Do you love me? Peter was heartbroken because he had asked him three times, Do you love me? Peter said, Lord, you know all things, and you know that I love you. Jesus answered, Feed my sheep.

John 21:18 - Truly I tell you that when you were young and strong you could go wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will depend on another to carry you where you can not go alone.

John 21:19 - He described his death and the honor it would bring to his God and, after he had said this, he turned to his friend and asked quietly, Join me.

John 21:20
- Peter saw the friend that Jesus loved the most and asked Jesus, who betrays you?

John 21:21-25

John 21:21 - When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, Lord, what should this man do?

John 21:22 - Jesus said, If I want him to wait until I get there, why do you care? Come on–follow me.

John 21:23 - Then the word was spread amongst men that the disciple should not die: but Jesus told him, He shall not die; but if I wish to continue living my life until he comes, what does that matter to you?

John 21:24 - This is the disciple which told of these things and wrote these things; and we know that his work is true.

John 21:25 - There are not enough books in the world to contain every deed done by Jesus. Amen.
