John 16:1 - I have told you these things to keep you from being offended.
John 16:2 - They will ban you from the synagogues and the person that kills you will think that he is following God’s wishes.
John 16:3 - And they will do these things to you, because they don’t know God the Father, nor do they know Me.
John 16:4 - But I stated these things so that when time comes, you will remember what I’ve said to you about them. I didn’t spoke unto you about these at the start because you were still with me.
John 16:5 - I go where he sends me and no one asks where are you going?
John 16:6 - But because I have told you these things, your heart is filled with sadness.
John 16:7 - Though it is hard to believe I am telling only the truth; I must depart: if I stay the Comforter will not come to you; if I leave I can send him.
John 16:8 - And when he arrives, he will censure the world of sin, and of uprightness, and of judgment:
John 16:9 - About sin, for they are incredulous of me;
John 16:10 - I will go to God and sin no longer.
John 16:11 - The prince of the world is judged because of judgement.
John 16:12 - I have many things to tell you, but you are not ready to hear them yet.
John 16:13 - When you are with the Spirit of Truth, it will show you the truth with an unbiased view, that does not originate from the self but from the facts as have been shown, and this will lead you to true clarity.
John 16:14 - He is going to glorify me because he will receive my gifts and show them to you.
John 16:15 - I co-own all things with God the Father: so I say to you, He will take from mine, and will present it to you.
John 16:16 - In a little while, you won’t see me; but a little while later, you’ll see me again, because I am going to be with the Father.
John 16:17 - His disciples said to each other, What does it mean, he’ll be gone and then return, and that he’s going to the Father?
John 16:18 - Then they said, Did he say A little while? we don’t know what he said.
John 16:19 - Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him something, so he told them, Do you ask each other about what I said, that for some time you would not see me but some time after that you would see me again.
John 16:20 - I’m telling you — you will be sad and cry, but the rest of the world will rejoice. You will be very sad, buy then your sadness will be turned into joy.
John 16:21 - A woman when she is in labor is upset because the time has arrived that she must endure it: but as soon as she has delivered the child, she forgets all about the pain, for she is so elated that she has brought her child into the world.
John 16:22 - For now you will be sad: but you will be happy when I see you again and no one will be able to take that from you.
John 16:23 - And at that time you will ask Me nothing. In all truth I tell you, whatever you ask God the Father in My name, He will grant you it.
John 16:24 - Up to now, you haven’t asked anything in my name. I want you to ask so you can receive and feel the joy I want you to have.
John 16:25 - So far I have told you about these things by speaking in proverbs. Now I will no longer speak to you in proverbs. Instead, I will actually show you the Father.
John 16:26 - Ask me not for what you need, but be assured that I will ask the Father for you.
John 16:27 - God loves you too, because you loved me, and believed that he sent me to you.
John 16:28 - I began my life as my Father’s son and will end it the same.
John 16:29 - His disciples asked him not to use proverbs or other confusing speech, but to talk to them in a straightforward manner.
John 16:30 - Now we know that you know everything and we need no further proof. That’s the reason we believe you are sent from God.
John 16:31 - Jesus turned to them saying, Now, you believe?
John 16:32 - It is time for everybody to leave me, but I won’t be alone.
John 16:33 - I have told you that, in me, you will find peace. In the world, there is only trouble but take heart, I have conquered the world.
