John 1:1-10

John 1:1 - God was the Word from the start.

John 1:2 - Jesus was in the beginning of everything, along with God.

John 1:3 - Everything was made by him, there is not one thing that without him was made.

John 1:4 - He was filled with life and served as a guiding light to the men.

John 1:5 - When a light penetrates the darkness; the darkness can not understand this light.

John 1:6
- John was a man who was sent from God.

John 1:7 - The same one came to witness, and told of the Light, so all who heard those words might believe the story.

John 1:8 - He doesn’t possess the Light. He was simply sent to witness and report on the arrival of the Light.

John 1:9 - That was the true guiding light which provides guidance and support for every man that enters into the world.

John 1:10 - He was part of the world and he had made the world, but the world still didn’t know him.

John 1:11-20

John 1:11 - He became a man but did not accept himself.

John 1:12 - The people who received Jesus became God’s children–all those who believe on the name of Jesus.

John 1:13
- These were not created with genetics, or willed into being by man or anything else, but rather they were created by God.

John 1:14 - His glory was all around us, a glory that could only come from the Father, as the Word was transformed into body and lived with us in grace and truth.

John 1:15 - John recognized him and cried, saying, He is the man of whom I spoke, He came after me but is preferred over me because he was before me.

John 1:16 - And we have recieved of his loving understanding, and understand him also.

John 1:17
- Even though the law was provided by Moses the understanding and truth were provided by Jesus Christ.

John 1:18 - They could only have faith that he was God’s son.

John 1:19 - This is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites, from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who are you?

John 1:20
- And he admitted it, and did not deny it; but admitted, I am not the Christ.

John 1:21-30

John 1:21 - And they questioned him, What now? Are you Elias? And he answered, I am not Elias. Are you a prophet? And he responded, No.

John 1:22 - They said to him, Who are you? We want to tell the people who sent us. What do you have to say for yourself?

John 1:23 - He cried, I am the single cry in the middle of the woods, The way of the Lord is straight, as prophesied by Esaias.

John 1:24
- And the people who came had been sent by the Pharisees.

John 1:25 - And the people there wanted an answer from him, saying Why are you doing the baptizing if you are not Christ, or Elias, nor that prophet?

John 1:26 - Then John said to them, I am baptizing people with water, but there is a man standing here, even though you don’t know who he is;

John 1:27 - This man who follows me is loved more than me, I am not worthy of untying his shoe.

John 1:28 - Beyond Jordan in Bethabara, where John was baptizing, all these things were done.

John 1:29 - The next day John saw Jesus walking toward him. He said, Look, it is the Lamb of God. He will take away all the sin that is in the world.

John 1:30 - This is the man I was talking about when I said, A man is coming after me who is much greater than I am; for he existed before I was born.

John 1:31-40

John 1:31 - And I didn’t know Him: but even so, in order that all of Israel would be aware of His coming, I preceded Him doing water baptisms.

John 1:32 - And John made the following claim, telling them, I witnessed the Spirit coming down from heaven similar to a dove, and it lit on him.

John 1:33 - I had no idea who He was, but God had told me that one day I would baptize someone in water and see the Holy Spirit come upon that person and that would be the Messiah, the One who baptizes people with the Holy Spirit.

John 1:34 - I saw and witnessed that this is in fact the Son of God.

John 1:35 - The next day John and two of his disciples stood up;

John 1:36 - He noticed Jesus as he was walking and he said, Look here is the Lamb of God!

John 1:37 - They heard Jesus and followed him.

John 1:38 - Then Jesus noticed that they were following him, and he asked, What do you want? They replied, Rabbi (which means Master), where do you live?

John 1:39 - He invited them to see for themselves. They went with him and saw where he lived, and stayed overnight, because it was already about ten o’clock at night.

John 1:40
- Simon Peter’s brother named Andrew heard John talking and followed after him.

John 1:41-51

John 1:41 - The first person he sought was his brother Simon, whom he told, We have discovered the Messias, he is Christ.

John 1:42 - Simon was brought to Jesus and told that he shall be known as Cephas.

John 1:43 - The next day Jesus would go into Galilee and find Philip, to him he would say Follow me.

John 1:44 - Understand that Philip came from Bethsaida, the same city that Andrew and Peter had come from.

John 1:45 - Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found Joseph’s son, Jesus from Nazareth, whom was written about by the prophets and Moses, in the law.

John 1:46 - Can anything good possibly come from Nazareth? Nathanael asked, and Philip replied Come see.

John 1:47 - Jesus saw Nathanial approaching and said, Hey look–an Israelite who is honest.

John 1:48 - Nathanael asked him: Where do you know me from? Jesus answered and said to him: Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.

John 1:49 - In reply, Nathanael said Rabbi, you are the Son of God and the King of Israel.

John 1:50 - Jesus answered him and said, Because I said that I saw you under a fig tree, you believe? You’ll see greater things than that.

John 1:51 - And he said to them, Truly, truly, I am telling you that after this you will witness the opening of heaven and see the angels of Gods going up and coming down on the Son of man.
