John 5:1 - Afterwards was the Jewish feast so Jesus traveled to Jerusalem.
John 5:2 - There’s a pool, located by the sheep market in Jerusalem, called Bethesda, in Hebrew, that has five porches.
John 5:3 - A crowd had gathered to wait for the moving of the water, and many of their number were without sight or limbs or otherwise infirm.
John 5:4 - At a certain time, an angel would come and flick the surface of the water and whoever went into the water first after that would be healed of any disease.
John 5:5 - A man was there who had an illness for thirty eight years.
John 5:6 - When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he’d been that way for a long time, he asked him, Will you be cured?
John 5:7 - Nobody will put me in the water when it is rough, but somebody got in before me said the impotent man.
John 5:8 - Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your bed, and walk.
John 5:9 - On the sabbath, the man got better and walked.
John 5:10 - The cured Jews spoke to him and said, The sabbath day is here: it’s against the law for you to carry your bed.
