23:21 - But they screamed, shouting to kill him, murder him.
23:22 - And he spoke to them a third time, asking what evil the man had committed. He found no evil in the man and so he let him go.
23:23 - The mob yelled for him to be crucified, as did the chief priests. And so it was done.
23:24 - And Pilate ordered the sentence to be granted so they could have what they desired.
23:25 - And he realeased the murderer Barabus, for whom they had asked; and sent Jesus to die to please the crowd.
23:26 - As they took him away, they captured a Cyrenian named Simon leaving the country and assigned the cross to him, so he could carry it after Jesus.
23:27 - A large crowd of people followed him, including many women who cried and wailed for him.
23:28 - Jesus turned to the daughters of Jerusalem and said, don’t weep for me, weep for yourselves and your children.
23:29 - Look out; the time is coming when the Blessed people male and female will be those who cannot have children, and those who miscarried.
23:30 - Then they will shout to the mountains, Collapse on us; and to the foothills, Hide us.
