The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Luke 19:1-10

19:1 - And Jesus came into the place and traveled through Jericho.

19:2 - There was a man named Zacchaeus who was the head tax collector and who was rich.

19:3 - And he tried to see Jesus; but couldn’t see over the crowd, because he was a small man.

19:4 - Knowing that He was to pass that way, he ran before and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him.

19:5 - When Jesus got there, he looked up and saw Zacchaeus. He said to Zacchaeus, Hurry and come down here. I need to say at your house today.

19:6 - Then he quickly came down and welcomed him joyfully.

19:7 - The people who watched Jesus grumbled when they found out Jesus was visiting with a sinful man.

19:8 - Zacchaeus told Jesus, I try to be generous–I give half of everything I own to people in poverty and if I make a mistake and take something from someone, I give back four times what I took.

19:9 - And Jesus said to him: Salvation has come to your household today, since he also is a son of Abraham.

19:10 - To save that which was lost, the Son of man has come to find.
