14:1 - When he went to the Pharisee’s house to eat bread for the sabbath they kept a close eye on him.
14:2 - A guy with edema stood in front of him.
14:3 - Jesus answered the lawyers and Pharisees by asking Is it legal to heal someone on the seventh day, the sabbath?
14:4 - And they retained their balance. And he released him after possessing and reviving him.
14:5 - They were answered with, Who of all of you will have a donkey or cow fall into peril and not save the straight away on the sabbath?
14:6 - There was nothing they could say.
14:7 - And he gave an analogy to those that were invited, when he saw how they sought out the best rooms; saying to them.
14:8 - Don’t invite guests to a wedding by acting haughty and pretentious. For if you do, the prospective guests will instead attend the wedding of a more honorable family.
14:9 - He gave a bad room to the man that disrespected him.
14:10 - Instead, when you are invited, go sit at the lowest place so that when the host comes he might say to you, Friend, move to a higher place. Then you will gain the respect of the others that eat with you.
