The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Luke 9:11-20

9:11 - When they knew it, the people followed him, and he welcomed them, told them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

9:12 - And as the day was coming to a close, the 12 disciples came and said: Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding towns and find places to stay and food to eat because we are in a desert here.

9:13 - He told them to feed the others but they responded that the only things they had left were five loaves of bread and a few fish. Then they asked if they should go out and buy more food for everyone.

9:14 - There was a large crowd of five thousand men. He said to the disciples, put them into smaller groups of fifty.

9:15 - They did that and all of them sad down together.

9:16 - He took the five loaves and two fishes, looked to heaven and blessed them, then divided them among the disciples to distribute to the population.

9:17 - They ate until they were full, but there was still enough left over to fill twelve baskets.

9:18 - Consequently, while he prayed alone with his disciples nearby he asked them, Who do the people say I am?

9:19 - They answered, John the Baptist, but some people say you’re Elias and others say you’re one of the old prophets that has risen from the dead.

9:20 - And he asked of them. Who is it that you think I am? Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of God.
