8:11 - The parable became this: Gods word is the seed.
8:12 - The seeds that fall by the side of the road represent those people who hear the good news; but then the devil comes and makes them forget what they heard, so they won’t believe the good news and be saved.
8:13 - They are like seeds on rock, when they hear the word they are delighted, but like the seed that can not grow roots, they have no strenght in the word and when times get tough they do not hold the faith.
8:14 - The seeds that fell among the thorn bushes are those who when they heard the good news, were distracted by the worries and rewards of this life, and who don’t bear any fruit.
8:15 - The good soil represents the people who hear the word of God and they take it into their hearts–it makes a big difference in their lives and in the lives of people around them.
8:16 - Nobody turns on a lamp and then covers it or hides it under a bed; instead, he puts it on a shelf where everyone who comes into the room can see its light.
8:17 - Nothing is secret that shall not be revealed; nor anything hidden that shall not be discovered.
8:18 - So how you listen, because those who have shall receive, and those who have not shall be stripped of even that which they seemed to possess.
8:19 - His mother and his brother tried to get to him, but he was surrounded by a crowd.
8:20 - They told Jesus that his mom and brothers were just outside and that they were wanting to see him.
