Luke 6:11-20

6:11 - They were consumed by rage; and conspired with one another about what they would do to Jesus.

6:12 - At a certain time, he went up a mountain to pray, and stayed there all night long praying to God.

6:13 - When the day came he called upon his followers: out of his followers he chose twelve who then became his apostles;

6:14 - Simon, also named Peter, his brother Andrew, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

6:15 - Matthew, Thomas, James (Alphaeus’ son), and Simon, whose nickname was Zelotes.

6:16 - And James’ brother Judas, along with Judas Iscariot the betrayor.

6:17 - He came below and stood with them there on the plain, in the presence of his beloved disciples, with a wonderous many peoplethat come out of the area of Judea, and out of Jerusalem, also from the water coast of Tyre, also Sidon, that came close to him to hear what he was saying, and to be made well from their sicknesses.

6:18 - Those who were full of evil spirits were cleansed.

6:19 - All of them wanted to touch him because he was a virtuous man who healed every one of them.

6:20 - And he looked into the eyes of his disciples, and uttered, Blessed be the poor: for they will find the kingdom of God.
