27:41 - The chief priests were mocking him along with, all the scribes and elders, spoken,
27:42 - Since he was able to save other people, why isn’t he able to save himself? If he really is the King of Israel, he needs to get down off that cross, and then we’ll believe what he’s told us.
27:43 - He proclaimed to be the son of God, and trusted in him, and called for deliverance.
27:44 - Even the robbers, who had been crucified with him, criticized him the same as everyone else.
27:45 - Then at the sixth hour darkness covered the whole area until the ninth hour.
27:46 - Jesus cried out to God Why have you forsaken me?
27:47 - When some of the people that were standing there heard of this, they said, this man is calling for Elias.
27:48 - And right away one of them ran, grabbed a sponge, saturated it with vinegar, and put it on a stick, extending it to Him to drink.
27:49 - The rest decided to leave him alone and see if Elias would save him.
27:50 - After Jesus shouted again in a piercing tone of voice, he died.
