16:21 - Jesus explained to his disciples that he must travel to Jerusalem to suffer death at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, but be raised again the third day.
16:22 - Then Peter took him, and corrected him, saying, No way, Lord, this can’t happen to you.
16:23 - He turned and told Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
16:24 - Jesus told his followers that if any one wanted to follow him, they should let that person do so.
16:25 - Whoever looses his life will find it in the Lord.
16:26 - What good is it for a man to gain everything in the world that he desires, and then lose his own soul? And what wealth is there on earth valuable enough to buy back his soul?
16:27 - When the Son of man returns to Earth in God’s glory, he will reward all people according to what they have done in their lives.
16:28 - I will tell you the truth, Some people will remain here, and they will not die, until they see the Messiah arrive in his kingdom.
