9:1 - And he got onto a ship and crossed, arriving in his city.
9:2 - They brought him a paralyzed, bedstricken man, and Jesus told the man to stay positive and that his sins have been forgiven.
9:3 - Some of the scribes said to the others that the man was blaspheming.
9:4 - Jesus knows their thoughts in their hearts before they do.
9:5 - Is it easier to say Your sins are forgiven or Get up and walk?
9:6 - But that you will know the Son of man has the power on earth to forgive sins and heal the sick. Stand, pick up your mat, and return home.
9:7 - Then he woke up and went home.
9:8 - But when the crowds saw what happened, they were astounded, and gave glory to God, who had given this incredible power to men.
9:9 - And as Jesus was leaving there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting and collecting taxes; and Jesus told Matthew to follow him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
9:10 - And so Jesus sat and had a meal in the house, and both he and his disciples were joined by many tax-collectors and sinners.
