2:1 - When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, King Herod ruled and wise men came to Jerusalem from the east.
2:2 - Saying to them, Where can we find the One who is born to be King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the East, and have come to worship at His feet.
2:3 - After Herod the king had heard these things, he was disturbed, as were all the others in Jerusalem.
2:4 - He ordered the high priests and the scribes to come to him, and he asked them to determine where Christ was going to be born.
2:5 - So they told the man, as it was foretold by a prophet in the past, it would be in Judaea in the town of Bethlehem,
2:6 - From you, Bethlehem, will arise a Governor that will rule over all of Israel.
2:7 - Then Herod, when he had the Wise Men in private where he could talk to them, pressed them for the exact time that they first saw the Star.
2:8 - They found the young child in Bethlehem and worshipped him.
2:9 - After their audience with the king, they left. And, there was the star, now in the eastern sky, and it seemed to move into a position directly ahead of them, and finally to a one above the location of the child.
2:10 - When the star was found, they triumphed with overwhelming happiness.
