The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Mark 14:31-40

14:31 - But he said even more adamantly, I would not betray you even if my life depended on it. Everyone else agreed.

14:32 - And they arrived at a place called Gethsemane: and he said to his disciples, You stay here while I’m praying.

14:33 - Then he took Peter and James and John with him, and he grew both astonished and sad;

14:34 - Tell them, My soul is full of deadly sorrow; watch it occur.

14:35 - He went forward a little way, and dropping to the ground he prayed that, if it were possible, this hour might pass from him.

14:36 - And he said, Papa, I know you can do anything; please don’t let this terrible thing happen; but still, I will do what you want.

14:37 - He came in and found them sleeping. He asks Peter and Simon, Are you awake? Could you stand watch for an hour?

14:38 - Be careful and pray so you’re not tempted. God’s ready to help you. You can’t get through this on your own.

14:39 - Once again, he left, prayed, and repeated his words.

14:40 - When he returned, he found they were asleep once more for they were extremely tired and not able to respond to him.
