12:11 - The Lord did this. Isn’t it great?
12:12 - And they wanted to capture him, but they were afraid of the people, because they knew that he had told a parable about them, and they left.
12:13 - And they sent some Pharisees and Herodians to try to trick him.
12:14 - And when they approached the Master they remarked to him, we know that you speak truth based on the the ways of God rather than what men say; tell us, what is our lawful obligation concerning Caesar’s tax?
12:15 - Should we give or not give? But he, knowing of their hypocrisy, said to them, Why are you tempting me? Bring me a penny so I can see it.
12:16 - When they brought it to him he asked whose likeness was on it. They told him it was Cesar’s
12:17 - Give what belongs to Caesar to him and give to God what is God’s, Jesus replied, and caused them to be in awe of him.
12:18 - Then came the Sadducees, who didn’t believe in resurrection, and they asked him:
12:19 - Moses told us that if a woman is widowed and has no children, then her late husband’s brother should marry her and create a family with her.
12:20 - There were seven brothers, and the eldest got married but died childless.
