Mark 8:31 - What he said to them was that the Son of man must suffer greatly, be rejected by the church authorities and be killed; but rise again in three days.
Mark 8:32 - He was open when he spoke. Peter then began to deny his connection to him.
Mark 8:33 - But after he had turned around and looked at his disciples, he chastised Peter, and said to him, Get away from me, Satan, because you don’t desire the things of God but rather worldly things.
Mark 8:34 - He called the people and his disciples to himself, and said to them, Anyone who wants to be my follower has to deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
Mark 8:35 - But whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save his life shall lose it the same shall save it.
Mark 8:36 - Does a person gain anything if they attain the world, but lose their soul?
Mark 8:37 - What should a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:38 - If you try to embrace God’s word in secret because you are ashamed to do so publicly, Jesus will not embrace you publicly when He comes to rule His kingdom with the angels.
