Mark 8:11 - The Pharisees came to him and started asking questions, temping him, and looking for a sign from heaven.
Mark 8:12 - He sighed in exasperation, and said: Why does this generation seek a sign? Believe me when I say that they will receive no signs.
Mark 8:13 - And upon leaving them, he climbed aboard the ship and crossed to the other side.
Mark 8:14 - The disciples forgot to bring bread with them, and they didn’t have more than a loaf in the ship either.
Mark 8:15 - And he charged them, saying, Pay attention to what I am saying, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.
Mark 8:16 - And they concluded, It is because we have no bread.
Mark 8:17 - When Jesus found out what they had done, he said to them, Why did you do it? Because you have nothing to eat? Don’t you understand? Are you so hard-hearted?
Mark 8:18 - Do you not see even though you have eyes? Do you not hear even though you have ears? And do you not remember?
Mark 8:19 - After I divided the bread between five thousand people, how many baskets of bread did you end up with? They replied, Twelve.
Mark 8:20 - When seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you take? They said, Seven.
