The Turker’s Gospel

The Bible According To Mechanical Turk Workers

Revelation 16:1-10

Revelation 16:1 - I heard a large voice coming from the temple telling the seven angels, Go out and distribute these vials containing the wrath of God onto the earth.

Revelation 16:2 - And the first was upon them and he emptied his container upon the dirt and their fell a displeasurable and difficult to endure sore upon men which had the sign of the beast, upon them which honored his imagery. [Turker's Comment: This sentence seems to be about the end of days when humans are identified by the mark of the beast.]

Revelation 16:3 - The second angel dumped his vial into the water, it looked red like the blood of a dead man, every living thing in the water then died.

Revelation 16:4 - The third angel dumped his vial upon the waters, and they appeared as red blood in the water.

Revelation 16:5 - I heard the angel who watches over the waters say, You are wise, Lord, you who are now, and were, and forever will be, because of your judgment. [Turker's Comment: The angel is agreeing with God's judgment.]

Revelation 16:6 - Because they have killed saints and prophets, they are worthy of the blood I give them to drink. [Turker's Comment: I think that this sentence is saying that he is going to give them blood to drink because they have already killed saints and prophets.]

Revelation 16:7 - And I heard yet another one speaking out of the altar, saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty, Your judgments are true and right on a holy level. [Turker's Comment: A biblical reference, obviously. Sounds like one of those miraculous occurences where voices issue from an inanimate object, in this case, an altar. The voice proclaims the supreme and perfect judgment of the Creator.]

Revelation 16:8 - The fourth angel poured his vial onto the sun and in doing so was given the power to burn men with fire. [Turker's Comment: The angel has the power to burn men.]

Revelation 16:9 - And people were scorched by the great heat, and took the name of God in vain, the very name that had power over the plagues: and they didn’t repent nor did they give Him glory. [Turker's Comment: This might be Exodus, but could also be from Revelations, don't know. A series of plagues including this last one, global warming, perhaps? (: People cursing God and too hubristic to see that they are cursing the power behind the plagues.]

Revelation 16:10 - The kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, when the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast.
