Revelation 13:1 - I stood on the beach and saw a beast dripping with symbolism rise from the water. [Turker's Comment: The author describes the beast he saw in a vision.]
Revelation 13:2 - I saw a beast with the body of a leopard, the feet of a bear, and the mouth of a lion; the dragon gave him his power, and his position, and a great amount of authority. [Turker's Comment: He saw a beast that looked like a leopard, bear, and lion. The beast's power was given to him by the dragon.]
Revelation 13:3 - And I saw that one of the heads was fatally wounded; and his fatal wound was healed, and the whole world marvelled at the monster. [Turker's Comment: The subject is wounded greatly, but later healed, so that the people are shocked.]
Revelation 13:4 - They worshipped the dragon and then the beast–whom the dragon gave power to–using these words, Who is powerful like the beast? Who can make war on him?; [Turker's Comment: The meaning of the sentence is that the dragon, or satan to Christians, gave power to the one referred to as the beast to rule over people and they felt that no one was like him and that no one was able to stand against him.]
Revelation 13:5 - And the good he spoke of was blasphemie, the power given to him lasted another fourty years and two months. [Turker's Comment: he lead people on to believe that the bad was good, and he did so for another fourty years and two months.]
Revelation 13:6 - And he began to talk against God, cursing His name, His church, and those who live in heaven. [Turker's Comment: He was cursing God and heaven.]
Revelation 13:7 - He was given the power to persecute Christians,to get rid of them and show that he reigns:and power was given to him to be the leader of every race and nation on the face of the earth. [Turker's Comment: God handed over power to the anti-Christ to persecute Christians and also gave him power to rule this earthly kingdom for a time.]
Revelation 13:8 - Everyone who lives on earth will worship him, as long as their names are not associated with the Lamb who was killed at the foundation of the world. [Turker's Comment: All those on earth except sinners will worship god;]
Revelation 13:9 - Any person who is capable of hearing should be allowed to listen. [Turker's Comment: The speaker wants every able person to hear what is about to be said.]
Revelation 13:10 - If you lead someone into slavery, you will be enslaved: if you kill with a sword, you will be killed with a sword. This is what the saints await and believe. [Turker's Comment: If you commit a sin that sin will be committed against you.]
